Bon Jovi covered Thin Lizzy's "The Boys Back In Town" and i love that song. Poison covered KISS' "Rock And Roll All Nite". Another favorite is Queen's "We Will Rock You" covered by Warrant. Aerosmith covered The Doors' "Love Me Two Times".

The Honeydrippers [supergroup featuring Robert Plant and Jimmy Page] covered "Sea Of Love" by Phil Philips With The Twilights. He original spent 2 weeks at #2 on the Billboard Top 4O and 14 weeks in the Top 4O, while the cover only hit #3 but also spent 14 weeks in the Top 40.

Thanks! I was listening to "Tall Cool One" by Plant when i was on this thread and had remembered he had covered that song. I never knew '83's "(There's) Always Something There To Me" by Naked Eyes was a cover. It was originally released in '7O by R.B. Greaves.

Coach, we brought "Roadhouse Blues" on another thread, The Jeff Healey Band covered it for Patrick Swayze's Roadhouse. "People Are Strange" was covered for The Lost Boys [still waiting on that promised sequel...].

Here is a cover of The Drinking Song by Moxy Früvous.

I was looking for a YouTube video of it so that I could put this song up in the thread "Lyrics that have special meaning for you."  But I could only find this guy doing a cover of the song.

Moxy Früvous is an amazing band and the original version of the song is one of my all time favorite songs.  If you're interested in hearing them perform the song, or hearing some of their other stuff, you can check out this link:

http://www.archive.org/details/mfruvous1998-08-02.flac16

They used to do a lot of improve stuff during their concerts between their songs, usually involving audience participation or them just riffing with each other.  They list it in the track list as 'banter.'  This link from archive.org is just one of their concerts, if you like their sound you can check out some others.  The Drinking Song is the final one of the concert so you can always just jump to song 30 in the list.

This is a cover tunes thread, i don't see why you attacked my post, Coach. Cover tunes like Metallica covering Thin Lizzy's "Whiskey In The Jar".

Thanks for the post Miss B. Was starting to think that I was the only one even looking at this thread.

I hear a few good cover songs each week that I think I should add here. By the time I get in front of the computer, I forget what it was that I heard.  ;D

It's true, you've been almost the sole poster in this thread, but I -- and, I assume, several others -- have been following it, and listening to the songs you post. So, thanks for the great work!
