Seeing how much everyone is posting over in the What ya Listening to thread, I thought I would post up a great cover that I heard last night. I like the original Cure but 311 does a great job on this

311 - Love Song

"Cold Gin" Mark Slaughter (KISS Cover)

*Video should read "Mark Slaughter" and not "Marcos Masacre"*

As stated in the Dubstep thread, A cool cover of the FUN song

Like Moths To Flames - Some Nights (FUN cover)

We got the CD in the car all the time and will pop this in, blast it and sing. One son can do the heavy scream parts very well.

This is absolutely brilliant, Coach!

I especially loved the way they turn the cheesy hippie sensibilities of the original on their head, e.g. changing "There'll be peace when you are done" into "Get the hell off the couch and get a goddamned job!"

A big, two fisted woo for posting it!

there are a few different videos for this with Rob singing, but I like this NSFW made version with the movie clips better

In keeping with clowns love of Kiss and cover songs. There have been more than one cover album with different takes on classic Kiss.

Many bands do them but not a lot of them make whole albums of them. Anthrax just released an all covers album called ANTHEMS. 8 songs covering Rush to Journey and many in between. Picked it up last night and have it in now for the first listen. Sounds good

I've noticed that, to me, cover songs are starting to be a lot better than they may have been in the past. Seems like bands are putting a lot more thought into what they try and sing and how they do it.

I am not a purist. I am OK with a band putting their own twist on a cover, infact I think that is as cool as doing a cover to start with.

I really liked the still shot that was with this video. The drive-in sign overgrown with weeds.

Thanks for that post Lurid. I don't know the song they were covering but I do know this song. Interesting take on it
