It's been quite the night for marijuana in several ballot measures across the country.

Voters in Washington state and Colorado appear to have voted "yes" on measures that would legalize the sale of pot to adults, without the need for a doctor's prescription. Massachusetts voters have overwhelmingly approved a medical marijuana ballot measure. (AP)(The final votes are still being counted.) And earlier Tuesday evening, voters in Massachusetts overwhelmingly approved the measure to allow the use of medical marijuana.

Oregon voters have to decide on a similar measure to those passed in Washington and Colorado, which would allow marijuana use for any individual over the age of 21, but it appears to have been defeated.

Arkansas's medical marijuana initiative also appears to have been defeated.

Montana, which already has a medical marijuana law, is voting on whether or not to restrict patient access in the state.

So far, states that have approved medical marijuana have walked a fine line with federal laws that still prohibit the sale of marijuana under any circumstances. The full legalization of marijuana in these two states is expected to increase that tension between local and federal laws.

In total, six states are considering marijuana initiatives.

"Now that this law has been passed [in Massachusetts], it will finally be legal and safe for myself and many others in the state to procure the medicine," Eric McCoy, 59, told the Boston Globe.

NBC News reports that 17 states and the District of Columbia already have laws allowing for the medical use of marijuana, according to the National Council of Legislatures.

A man who uploaded cannabis-growing tutorials to YouTube has been imprisoned after mistakenly filming himself in one of his videos.

It was one of several mistakes by Kyle Berry that led to his arrest for cultivating the drug in New Hampshire.

In one video his face could be seen reflected in a shiny surface. In another he filmed a parcel of marijuana seeds he had delivered from the UK which revealed his name and address.

"He's not the brightest person in the world," said Sheriff Michael Downing. "There's indications he was selling the product. This isn’t the first grow he's had."

Prosecutors claimed Berry had produced several videos showing-off his cannabis farm in the basement of his home.

"He's very detailed about how he is doing it,” said County prosecutor Jerome Blanchard. "Showing how to grow it, how to set it up, what chemicals he uses and where he gets his seeds."

Berry, 40, pleaded guilty to growing a controlled drug but pleaded mitigation claiming he took cannabis because he was in constant pain.

"I did it because since 13, I've had 17 surgeries," he said. "I didn't realise how bad the medications I was on were clouding my judgement and killing me."

But Judge Marguerite Wageling refused to believe Berry was growing all the marijuana for his own use and sentenced him to two years in prison with four months suspended.

I remember the first time I tried it.    I was laughing so hard about something I peed a little bit.   We were at my friends house with other kids our age.   I grabbed my friends hand and pulled her to her room.    She got me some dry underwear and I changed.

Doritoes was my main munchy food.  And cheese puffs.  I used to LOVE cheese puffs.   I don't eat them anymore.

Now my buzz is more relaxed and I don't eat the food.

My 20's I was a very frequent smoker.   We'd smoke one and an hour later, light up another.
Early 30's was more get high and ride it for as long as it lasted.   By which time we were drunk and it was a smooth transition.
The past 5 or so years, about once a month, I'll take one good puff.   Just to relax.   My friend will smoke it occasionally too.   It makes me frisky.   For her she gets paranoid and acting fidgety.   I giggle as she can't sit still and starts cleaning and straightening up and stuff.

It's been a while since I smoked. I remember this one time my hubby, his friend and I went driving in the country on these back roads. They were a mixture of sand, rock, and dirt and went on for miles, twisting and turning through the woods. The weed was very very potent and we were all totally trashed. Well somehow we ended up getting stuck. The car was low to the ground, and the sand was very soft, the car was pretty much buried in almost 2 feet of very soft sand. The guys tried to push it out but no luck. So we ended up walking for miles back to our friends house. Luckily it was mid day. If that would have happened at night it would have been so scary walking down those pitch dark dirt roads.

Now legal pot shops are selling marijuana that is up to 98% THC.  THC is known to alter the dopamine in the brain which controls many of your moods. Colorado has seen an increase in automobile deaths attributed to driving while under the influence of THC, a process where THC is vaporized and inhaled. No scientific tests have been made to study the physical and mental results of inhaling straight THC and the states that have legalized marijuana are not mandated to finance such studies. 

As yet, in Colorado, deaths in automobile accidents caused by drinking still are far more numerous then deaths attributed to being under the influence of THC but while death by alcohol remains stable, deaths by THC are rapidly increasing.  I think the state legislatures of states that have legalized marijuana might want to study this more and maybe decrease the percentage of THC in marijuana. 

I smoked some pretty potent stuff in the 60s but nothing compared to what can be legally purchased today. Let's bring back the feeling mellow with a nice buzz after a joint instead of worrying about what is now happening.

I only take a hit, or even a half a hit when I do smoke.   I get a nice buzz from that.   The last time I took two good hits, I was too high.      Back in the late 90's, a friend and I would smoke a whole joint.

As for driving.    I would never drive under the influence of marijuana.   I will with 2 beers (not 3), but not pot.   It's two dangerous and throws my reflexes way out of whack.   

I have an Uber app on my phone.   I use it often.    Drunk or drugged driving is not worth risking my life or others.      We're usually pretty close to home, so I don't mind paying 6 to 15 dollars on occasion.       It's not like I go out often.   Just looked and I've used Uber 10 times this year.

I took a hit off a vape loaded with THC the other night.  First time I tried it and ever got a "buzz".  It did not last long.  My heart beat a little faster for about 30 seconds.  That was it.
