Myself, I had a light schedule, all my classes in the afternoons between one and five. So I tended to have the house to myself all morning and in the evenings. I liked to exercise myself every morning, including jogging at 6am.
Things were going smoothly, everyone getting along [because they hardly ever were around and there were more than enough bathrooms]. Then in late November there was a phone call. It was a girl, with a Southern accent. She said she was twenty-three, was going to take some night classes and heard I might have a room to rent. She wanted the privacy and was willing to pay more. Who was I to argue with more money?
We made arrangements for her to come in the morning [after everyone left] to look at the room. The girl was about 5'5", wearing a hat, sunglasses and a long trench coat. Even in disguise and with her hair under her hat, I recognized Miley Cyrus!
I admit to having watched Hannah Montana and every music video of hers. Yes, I was a fan and more than a fan. It'd been six years since she released my favorite song of hers, "Party In The U.S.A.", and she'd hardly changed a bit.
I decided not to mention I recognized her, and maybe she thought I didn't recognize her because she took off her sunglasses once inside the house. I showed the room, she liked it and paid first month and a security deposit in cash, asking for a receipt.
She was quiet and kept to herself. None of the other roommates even realized we'd added another roommate, believe it or not. Mostly she'd stay in her room, which was the furthest in back.
