I am having some bad times.

First: whole neighborhood is without att internet. And since the line workers are on strike no word when it will be repaired.

Two: my dad passed away Saturday evening. He had pneumonia, a UTI, liver failure and a condition where if he stood or sat up quickly he would pass out. EMS tried to stabilize him but he quietly passed away.

As soon as they fix the phone lines I will update. Love you all.

Boss told me to take the week off, I am no good to her as I am right now. Apparently my father's brother and sisters are handling the mortuary and helping my younger sisters pay off the outstanding mortgage balance.

Here is the kicker.

They wanted his motorcycles and guns among other things to sell to put towards the debt. I flatly refused as they were what he left behind specifically for me and my younger brother. My other siblings were to either keep the house and land, using it for a place to crash if needed or sell it and divide the profits among themselves. His family wants to one and done his cremation, I wanted to eulogize my father at a memorial. But no one is willing to help with it, and I have my hands full trying to help my sisters to get the debt transferred over to them. So I will spread a few of his ashes over the spot where we put some of her ashes next to her fathers grave.

My dad.

He was a big man, a fighter, and a teddy bear all rolled into one. He loved my mother, even though he was a true flirt. But he never crossed that line. He liked to joke with people, or if he sensed that they were in a bad mood, he would poke at them to get a rise out of them, to help them blow off that steam.

Him and my mother.

Were freaks. I found their sex dungeon in their basement. I always had thought that the basement was too small in their house. But this morning after cleaning it out of my stuff and some things I wanted, I was walking up the stairs, slipped on the third step and fell into what I thought was a wall. Turns out the wall is fake. Just two parts  mocked up to look real. In it was proof that I inherited their freak genes. Swings, chains, clamps and other spicy things were on full display, right down to the Pillory facing a large mirror. My siblings and I are now traumatized orphans. I seen things in there that I had no clue about and I wondered about them.

But all in all, thank you all for the kind words and sympathies. I loved him dearly and he will be missed. I will post some of my favorite stories to my blog here soon. Right now I want to try to eat something and lay down. There is so much to do and I need to recharge before I tackle it.

It's so nice to read how you loved your father. And sad to read how, no sooner is your loved one gone, that the "family" is fighting over his possessions. I have witnessed this a number of times and it really saddens me. Fight for your father, Writer, and for what you think is appropriate. WOO!

I had grown up knowing my dad's side were like that. That's why I wont tell them where the motorcycles are and that the guns are in my gun safe. I am under no legal obligation to tell them either. So today, my uncle decided to try to go for an end run around me and ask my siblings where everything was. None of them told them that when my dad went into the hospital I went and removed the things because my siblings expressed a great disdain for them. Dad even had a muzzle loader, a highly impractical gun that requires a minute to reload. Now I wont say no to the small sentimental items, but not what he took care of. once a month on a Sunday he taught me to clean his guns. My dad was not a gun nut, but a hunter. He gave my wife a .22 rifle that can be broken down and stored in the butt stock. She was crying when she cleaned it.

Everyone in my house is crying more than me. I cried alot too, but my mom and dad tried to raise us as stoics, only crying when it was needed. So this weekend I will be going over there to clean the house out, because my sisters will be living there. My dad was never a greedy person, because he taught me that its just stuff.

Again condolences to you and your family. Don't let squabbles over "things" hurt the family. Family is more important. If it's not down on paper, letting it go may be best. The memories are the most cherished things to keep.

As to the adult toys they just need to go. In the dark of night ASAP. We got rid of all our toys so daughter or stepson will get.no surprises.

Oh they are so gone. Kind of hard not to be completely freaked out. I am trying to keep civil and be nice, but its hard in the face of sheer greed. They want the one gun because their mother gave it to my dad when he was 16. They want the one motorcycle because their mom left it to dad when she passed, etc. I will give everyone something, but my dad begged me to not let the bikes and guns go. And my father never begged before. So I am honoring his wishes.
