Hello! (and asstr.xyz outage)

Hey Readers and Writers!

asstr.xyz has been down for days - I'm not sure exactly, but I believe it went down about June 8, 2024.  ( Web server is down Error code 521)

With the scare back when asstr.org disappeared and I learned of the asstr.xyz copy, seeing this recent error lit up my trauma neurons,.  I haven't seen anything acknowledging an outage other than app-down services like https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/asstr.xyz which make no attempt to explain what is going on and why it hasn't been fixed. 

Does anyone know the backstory and/or if they will bring it back up?

The moderators here are aware of this. Unfortunately, this site has no ownership or control of ASSTR or the clone version XYZ.

The XYZ archive was created by an individual. So my thought is that either he failed to pay renewal subscription fees to the server, or the server kicked them out over content issues. This forum was kicked off three different servers, and only got up and running again after we agreed to remove a *large* amount of objectionable content. The whole “freedom of speech” thing doesn’t apply to private corporations.

Which is a long way of saying, we have no idea what happened. But at the present time, it appears that both sites are down.
