I should have started this a few weeks ago, but I haven't started the research yet. Here's a few tidbits I found out by accident:

NBC

Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU have been renewed, Law & Order: Organized Crime has also been renewed but is moving to Peacock for season 5.

CBS

NCIS has been renewed! NCIS: Hawaii has been cancelled [not because of ratings but CBS costs].

I recently binged watched all 25 seasons of Law and Order: SVU. It took me about a month. But it was really interesting to watch the storylines and character development through all those seasons. It’s really a remarkable show. And Mariska Hargitay is absolutely amazing.

Agreed! Mariska Hargitay is pretty amazing. Admittedly I haven't watched much since the single season the Deputy Chief of SVUs' son was on [the actor who played Robert on Everybody Loves Raymond mortally wounded him].
But while in the hospital last September I saw a few newer episodes and was shocked by the changes.

CBS will air a new Matlock starting Kathy Bates as the female Matlock. I was never a fan of Matlock but I loved Kathy Bates in Harry's Law.

Daddy was a Matlock fan. And we had Andy Griffith full seasons on VHS. He was on our tv a lot.
I've always associated Kathy Bates with horror shows and have never been a fan of hers. 
I'll have to give it a chance when it debuts.

Try to find Harry's Law, I'm not sure if it ever got released but it should have.

Misery.  She scarred me for life. I was never a fan of horror or violent thrillers.  I was 16 at the time and hated every second of it.  . 

I also she is in a new movie releasing in the theaters in the coming week. Looks cute. Summer Camp with Diane Keaton and Betsy Sodaro.

I remember Kathy Bates in American Horror Story. She made a pretty good witch. Think I watch Harry's Law, but don't remember much about it.

I've always enjoyed her anytime I've seen her in something.

What sucked about NCIS Hawaii being cancelled is that it ended on a cliffhanger.

I'm not thrilled Quantum Leap ended, but Scott Bakula more or less said he was never going to appear, and the last episode did sort of give Ben and Addison somewhat of a happy ending.

Oh no.  I didn't hear.  I actually forget the ending it's been so long.  Will have to find it and watch the last 15 minutes.  I liked the show. A little history lesson in a way each week.

Prequels are tough to do. I know I always compare them with the original. Better Call Saul" was one of the better ones recently.

As a fan of all the NCISs, I'll be checking it out. Filling Mark Harmon's shows as a young agent will be interesting to see

BTW: We've been watching the original NCIS from season one. It's being pulled from Netflix June 29th. So we're binging as fast as we can. Fun to see how the characters are being developed.

A lot of people are not happy they recast younger Gibbs, instead of using Mark Harmon's son, who already played him in flashbacks. Maybe he didn't want do it?

I have no interest, but am waiting for the Tony and Ziva series.

I watched the sneak preview of the first Matlock episode until my second HELL NO.
When the official premiere hits, I'll watch it all the way through.  I love me Kathy Bates, and I think adding Beau Bridges was a smart move.  Just going to have to see if the writing steps up, because I'm not confident.
