I hate to sound like an asshole, but I shared this with KB, because I just enjoy doing the puzzle, not because of a contest to have the best time. But it seems to have turned into a contest. So I intentionally take my time. Because I have too many other “contests” to deal with already.

I'm not trying to compete with anybody but myself. I want to get done with a quicker time for my own self esteem. I'm impressed with a lot of people's times, but I'm not trying to compete.

3 down was the only one that didn't make sense to me either.

I was able to complete it in 1:20, but after a half hour still cannot figure out our to post the badge image to this thread.

The first three down that's puzzled some of you pops up in my newspaper crosswords often. That's why I was able to get it quick. I never knew what it meant tho, just one of those regular clues that's used.

Did you sit in the front of the class in high school?  I love how you kill it every time.  And I imagine you can type on the phonelike our girls with times like that. Just a blur.    But they can't type on the computer keyboard like I can.

I had a guess for ____ boy, which changed another answer which changed a different answer but that got changed back when I got another answer, but that conflicted with an answer I thought I got and then thu changed that changed, I realized my ____ boy answer wasnt correct, and I was lost in the sauce... but I got it all in the end without googling anything LoL!

Yesterday I started saving screenshots of the day's completed puzzle so I can go back and see what 3-down (as an example) was when someone refers to the clue. I've been doing that for the Connections puzzle for a couple of weeks.

I don't care if you trounce me.  I don't care if I trounce you.  It's all for fun.  I sit and laugh my ass off when I hit the 4 minute mark.  Or post "DNF".   It's all good either way, baby.  And no, you don't sound like an a$$hole.  But you are a lawyer, so.
NYT put a timer on it.  They made it the competition.  But nobody here is bragging they are smarter than anyone else. .  And nobody cares if they "shit the bed" as I think it's been said.   We're just having fun.
