A poem dedicated to my mother.
Sometimes.
Sometimes I cried for no reason,
and you were there, tired, to hold me.
Sometimes I skinned my knee
and you were there to patch me up.
Sometimes, on the first day of school I had to have my teddy bear
and you were there to tell me that you would always be there for me.
Sometimes I learned just how mean the world is
and you were there to comfort me.
Sometimes I told the girl I liked I liked her and she punched me
and you were there to tell me that all women arent like that
Sometimes I hit puberty, and started to be mad at everything
and you were there to tell me everything is ok.
Sometimes we lost someone dear,
and you held me close, fixed my hair and moved on
Sometimes we do something we cannot take back.
and you were there to make me see the best way forward.
Sometimes I struggled through, with the weight of the world on my shoulders.
and you were there to show me your yoke too.
And sometimes we all traveled down the road of life together, and you needed to stop.
you said you needed a break, and to go on, you will be waiting for us when we come back.
but you aren't there anymore....
Love you mom.
