Well I'm wired for sound. Latest attempt to get my legs working a little better is a week test of a neuralstimulator.
After knocking me out the doctor using a syringe inserted two thin wires into my spine. Right now there's a controller well taped to my back.
I'm getting low voltage shocks to retrain my nerves and handle the pain responses differently. No, I don't really understand it either, just following.the expert's advice.
It's all gone well. I'm home catching up on caffeine. Had to fast from the time I got up until after the procedure.
I'll be getting a daily call from the company that makes the device and we'll play around with the settings. Right after I was in recovery area and kinda awake ,she came in.
Using a tablet she did something to make my legs and back tingle. Then she'd turn it down until the tingling stopped. I have an iPod for controlling my device. I was firmly told not to touch it!! Except when she calls for my daily check in.
It's working pretty good already. Just one problem so far. When My neighbor opens her garage door I stand up
Anyway, I try it for a week and if it works for me the controller gets implanted. I do feel like it's already made a difference. Early days I know, but I'm hopeful.
Stay tuned for further reports.
