Mine's 160x160 but you can also upload something to Imgur and link it to your profile. I guess the KB software then shrinks it down to 100x100 while displaying it

I tried for a week and finally got tired of it and said "screw it".

Rather than your generic" oops upload failed" message, you might consider putting a little effort into it and provide some details.

If the image needs to be 100x100, then explain that.  If it needs to be a jpg and not gif or png or whatever, then explain that.

It shouldn't be a new members job to spend days pulling their hair out trying to figure out what forum setting the admin has made in his Simple Machines Cpanel trying to troubleshoot the forum and discover what the problem is.  "Opps!  Upload failed" is a very huge swatch that could cover many different and unrelated Internet/forum/VPN/Browser problems.

After hunting and searching for 3 days I finally figured out that the aviator needs to be 100x100 pixels, after being "oops upload failed" 381 times over the last three days.

If you want your members profiles to be complete, then give them the tools to enable them to make their profiles complete.  It isn't just about carrying a  moderator badge and bitching about how the lowly membership is doing it.
