Bach: Complete Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin (Arthur Grumiaux)

I'm listening to the CD version released on the Philips Classics label, but I used to have the original vinyl set. I came across them when I was practising a transcription for the classical guitar, and decided to listen to the violin version.

Once Upon a Time in the West Midlands: The Bostin' Sounds of Brumrock 1966-1974

==> "bostin" = Black Country dialect for "excellent". "Brum" = "Brummagem" = Birmingham.

Buffet's concerts were a lot of fun, especially those he held outdoors. The partying that went on in the parking lots were epic. Parrot heads knew how to party!

Blackburn & Snow Something Good for Your Head 1966-67 (2007)

I'd never heard of this San Francisco duo until I came across a compilation of their music.

I didn't know that Jeff Blackburn co-wrote Neil Young's My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue), or that Sherry Snow was a potential replacement for Signe Anderson in Jefferson Airplane. If she had joined the band, I guess there would never have been a White Rabbit or Somebody to Love.

Prepare to have your mind blown!! This is a concert intermission videotaped in the world famous Boudikan theater, which is a 360 venue-meaning that the show is in the center of the venue and the audience sits around the stage.

I'm listening to Víkingur Ólafsson's 2023 recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations. The first time I heard it, I was stunned by the abnormally fast tempo of some variations. Almost like Glenn Gould on speed. The more I listen to it, however, the more I like it.

In 2017, when Chestwr Bennington took his own life, I was shook to my core. Linkin Park is by far one of my all time favorite bands. Seen them in concert more times than I can count. When the came back with Emily Armstrong as lead, I was extremely skeptical. Then I heard them playing.

She is not a replacement for Chester, this is just a new age of Linkin Park, and I am excited to witness it.

I'm not particularly fond of singers who use shrill vocal flips, but Dutch artist Judith Jobse is an exception. After hearing the single version of this song, I went out and bought her "Blue Tears" (2001) album. She has her own website at https://www.judithjobse.nl (in Dutch), and there's a Wikipedia entry on her (also in Dutch).

For no particular reason, I decided to indulge my nostalgia by listening to Buddy Holly.

As Buddy was serenading me through my earphones, I came across these lines of poetry:

Quote from: Rabindranath Tagore
At my opened window, amid the steady showers, the crickets’ noise,
And the dear fresh fragrance of the earth.

S is for Synchronicity.
