Yesterday was one of those perfect days.  Weather was just made for spending outside.  Told hubby I was taking a day for myself and went to West Point which is about 40 minutes away.  Is a most perfect place to "recharge."  Lots of trails to explore and benches to park your ass one when you just want to breathe in the air and listen to the symphony that is nature.

Anyways, must have listened to this about 5 times in a row.  Perfect for having the windows down, screaming the chorus, speeding down I185.  This was released in March of this year.

I have a question... does anyone listen to these posts, or just drop your own, and ignore everyone else's?

I had not heard most of these songs, and in most cases I was glad that I had not... but a few posts led me to explore an artist I would otherwise NEVER have listened to!

I most certainly do listen to them. I am not a huge music buff and I generally stick with songs I remember from my younger years. This thread gives me a great chance to experience a few new things. I think it is important for me to continue to expand my horizons in most every fashion. Music is relatively universal and I am grateful for those other members that post things that I would never dream of listening to.

I tend not to listen to the whole song but I have searched out artists that have been posted. Massive Attack is a staple on my music list now due to tinydancer posting them. I will also add that I tend to put more effort into a song or group if there is a story behind the post. I like to know why you posted a song instead of just a song posted alone.

all week, i have been listening to Rush 2112 album on my work commute, sort of puts me on edge for work, and I seem to getting a bit more done

Rush is my favorite band over the years.

I am sharing an old video (bootlegged?) below I found on youtube, it does not get interesting till about 1 min, and words don't start till about 4:45 minutes into it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUcbGMdfV2M

here's is another 2112 piece live "passage to bangkok", the band is getting a bit geriatric, but still loves what they do

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kB0vgbB7zs

words for "Passage to Bangkok" below for those not familiar with it

Our first stop is in Bogota
To check Columbian fields
The natives smile and pass along
A sample of their yield
Sweet Jamaican pipe dreams
Golden Acapulco nights
Then Morocco, and the East,
Fly by morning light

We're on the train to Bangkok
Aboard the Thailand Express
We'll hit the stops along the way
We only stop for the best

Wreathed in smoke in Lebanon
We burn the midnight oil
The fragrance of Afghanistan
Rewards a long day's toil
Pulling into Katmandu
Smoke rings fill the air
Perfumed by a Nepal night
The Express gets you there

another 2112 song, with an interesting video below

I like that and will endeavour to bear that in mind in future.

I'm a hopeless romantic, I hope we all have met or meet our soulmate, that feeling of being loved by someone who can relate to you without questioning anything about you, who accepts you for you is the best of feelings.

I've always loved this song, I'm not sure exactly what I take from it but the lyrics are powerful.

I am listening to this because I like the sound of the percussion, has a kinda island vibe, make you wanna sway your hips.  Is that what you meant Eric?
