Business looted just blocks from mine.

I'm putting up a sign "You can loot, but our employees can shoot". My former temp job has security guarding the place now.

Now the terrorists are breaking into neighborhoods like mine. Stay far away from CJ's property and family and you can live.

Business had been boarding up windows and putting up security cages before nightfall yesterday.  One small business put signs out saying, "we didn't murder him, please don't kill our business"

We didn't have any looting other than one gas station.  Peaceful protests until 9 pm and then curfew kicked in.  All the protested went home willingly but arrests were still made.

When officials talked about rioters from outside our state, this what was meant. They were wrong about the numbers, but as we've seen it only took a few to foment what happened.

Many cars without license plates have been spotted all through this. It's a common belief that many are stolen vehicles. Those stopped by authorities were found to contain containers filled with gasoline, rocks, crowbars even chains with weights at the end.

With tensions as high as they were one person can cause the eruption of many. It's like striking a small match and ending up with a forest fire.

Now it read others on KB have similar problems in their area. Be safe, stay alert and combine with neighbors to protect your community.

First off, I'm extremely grateful that you have taken the time over the past week or so to relate your first-hand experiences with these events, and, perhaps more important, sharing your emotional responses to the events. Your posts here are better than virtually anything else I've read about this crisis.

It's clear that some of the protestors are, basically, "professional protestors," like the guy in the article. He's only there to "shake things up" and engage in a bit of random violence. It's certainly convenient that by slavishly filming his every word and action, he has provided prosecutors with everything they'll need to easily convict him. It's also true that the Antifa protestors -- who are also protestors for protesting sake -- have also joined in the chaos and destruction.

Yet it's vital to understand that these fringe or "insincere" protestors -- who are getting all of the media attention, and all the social media commentary -- damage the cause and hugely distract from the points that the mainstream protestors are trying to make. And, unfortunately, it seems like they're succeeding in distracting everyone's attention. News reports and social commentary have shifted their focus from the true point -- yet another unarmed black man was murdered while in police custody -- to the aftermath. The true point is getting lost.

Members of the CPD were quoted in today's paper as saying many of the looters they arrested on Sunday had "southern" accents, thus giving credence to our mayor's claim that much of the violence was fomented by people from out of state.

White supremacists pose as Antifa online, call for violence

New York (CNN Business)A Twitter account that tweeted a call to violence and claimed to be representing the position of "Antifa" was in fact created by a known white supremacist group, Twitter said Monday. The company removed the account.

Before it emerged the account was run by white supremacists, Donald Trump Jr., President Donald Trump's son, pointed his 2.8 million Instagram followers to the account as an example how dangerous Antifa is.

"This account violated our platform manipulation and spam policy, specifically the creation of fake accounts," a Twitter spokesperson said in a statement. "We took action after the account sent a Tweet inciting violence and broke the Twitter Rules."

Although the account only had a few hundred followers, it is an example of white supremacists seeking to inflame tensions in the United States by posing as left-wing activists online.

The revelation of the account comes as President Donald Trump increasingly blames left-wing activists for violence occurring at protests across America.

On Sunday, Trump tweeted he would designate Antifa a terrorist organization, despite the US government having no existing legal authority to do so. Antifa, short for anti-fascists, describes a broad, loosely-organized group of people whose political beliefs lean toward the left — often the far-left — but do not conform with the Democratic Party platform.
Antifa positions can be hard to define, but many people espousing those beliefs support oppressed populations and protest the amassing of wealth by corporations and elites. Some employ radical or militant tactics to get out their messages.

The fake account, @ANTIFA_US, tweeted Sunday, "ALERT Tonight's the night, Comrades Tonight we say "F**k The City" and we move into the residential areas... the white hoods.... and we take what's ours #BlacklivesMaters #F**kAmerica."
"Absolutely insane," Trump Jr. wrote on Instagram, sharing a screenshot of the tweet, "Just remember what ANTIFA really is. A Terrorist Organization! They're not even pretending anymore."

A spokesperson for Donald Trump Jr. did not provide comment to CNN Tuesday morning, but later the post was removed from Trump Jr.'s Instagram feed. There is no indication whatsoever that Trump Jr. knew who was behind the account or that it was fake.
Twitter said that the account was in fact linked to Identity Evropa, a white power fraternity.

Though Twitter referred to the group as Identity Evropa when discussing the account's removal, the Anti Defamation League (ADL) states that the group dissolved and reformed under the name the American Identitarian Movement, which it also calls a white supremacist group.

The group promotes itself as "identitarian," that white people should preserve their racial and cultural identity. The American Identitarian Movement says it prohibits violence and illegal activity.

Twitter said it had shut down other fake accounts linked to Identity Evropa, too.
The phenomenon of people on the right creating fake Antifa accounts predates the current wave of protests. The takedown Monday is not the first time a fake Antifa account linked to white supremacists has been suspended by Twitter, the spokesperson confirmed.

A quiet night in our city. A curfew was put in place again, 10 PM to 4 AM. It was announced this morning that the curfew will be lifted tonight.

The state Human Rights Department has filed suit against the entireMinneapolis Police Department. They will be looking back ten years at policies and procedures to determine if police engaged in discriminatory practices. This is not an effort against persons in the department but a system change. The suit was announced yesterday by Governor Walz.

Our Governor. Since before Trump, I'd become very apolitical. I've been totally fed up with politicians on both sides. (This from a lapsed Republican. Yes, years ago, I carried water to the elephant.)  The refusal of both major parties in office to consider compromise on important issues is doing nothing but harm to this country.  I came to see all of them as only seeking office for their own personal glory and in some cases gain. Hey, if you're going to tar someone, get a huge brush and tar 'em all.

As the rioting began, I watched as two young (to me) mayors tried to cope with the rapidly, spinning out of control, situation as things spun out of control. Then they admitted they needed help, turning to Gov. Walz and asking for the National Guard.

The Guard, citizen soldiers leaving jobs and home to help, started to arrive. The Governor, at a press conference last Friday made it clear he was in charge and order would be restored. A little over one thousand Guardsmen joined the police and State Troopers. They were overwhelmed.  Who did the Governor blame the next morning? He stood before the press and said he took full responsibility!

I've watched him lead by using the people he has at hand. He's listened to his Public Safety Commissioner, the head of the State Patrol and the General in charge of the National Guard. He made the final decisions, but only after listening to the others. When things went wrong like some press being arrested he took responsibility and said it should never have happened.  He showed every sign of a true leader. And...as I watched, I'd occasionally think, "And we have Trump leading our country."
 

A final note, Governor Walz was a high school teacher. He entered politics and served in the U.S. House of Representatives. He also served 24 years in the Nation Guard and reached the highest enlisted rank of Command Sergeant Major. That made him the highest ranking enlisted man to go on to serve in Congress.

Now we begin to rebuild. The destroyed city and the crushed morale of two great cities and their citizens.

At least another two nights of curfew will be in effect. No one on the street between 10 PM and 4 AM with exceptions for people going to work.

Buses are rolling again and word on when Light Rail train service will restart is expected.

Found posted on Facebook.   I was able to confirm nearly all of it. I could not verify the Rockford police claim. The young man in Austin isn't dead but seriously wounded. The claim the pregnant woman as kidnapped is also unconfirmed and I could not get details on the CPD.

The post remains. This is only a small slice of the horrors of this largely peaceful protest. Many of the police are culpable in the violence, terror and mayhem visited upon us all. Evidence of outside agitators and agent provocateur is widespread. Mysterious piles of bricks are being staged at likely protest sites. First aid stations and members of the press are being targeted.

The mask is off.
Austin police have killed a young man by shooting him in the head with bird shot rounds wrapped in cloth, and continued to shoot the medics carrying his body. They shot a known pregnant woman in the stomach, then stormed and abducted her from a medic tent. They maced young children during a peaceful daytime protest.
Detroit police have brutally beaten, tear gassed and arrested my friends peacefully protesting. A curfew is set from 8pm to 5am city wide.
Rockford police dragged people from their cars and beat them last night.
Minneapolis police shot at people filming them on their own balconies.
An NYPD officer called a woman a "fucking bitch" and threw her on the ground. She went into a seizure and had to go to the emergency room. Then more New York cops rammed into crowds of protesters with their cars.
An Atlanta couple last night had their tires slashed, windows broken, and were dragged out of their car and tazed.
Chicago police announced a curfew and then raised the bridges out of downtown. Demonstrators were trapped and at the utter mercy of CPD roundups. A police supervisor ordered on the radio, "Gas 'em all." Over 1,000 people have been arrested.
Everywhere, journalists are being indiscriminately targeted and arrested. A Minneapolis photojournalist is blinded permanently in one eye after being hit by a less lethal round.
They've maced children. They've torn off a woman's hijab. They're turning off their body cameras and hiding their badge numbers.
This is just what's been documented. Imagine what hasn't been.
The true nature of American policing has been revealed for the world to see. I have never seen brutality on such a massive scale. They don't care if you're peaceful. They don't care if they're on camera.
Black and brown youth are the leaders on the ground. They are the leaders of our future. Black and brown youth are the people who are bleeding, getting beaten, and being thrown into jail. This is trauma that will last their whole lives.
To the bail funds. To the phone lines to demand release. We have to protect our people.
If you're going out there again please, and I beg you, be safe.

I haven't heard of any of the events described in the above post as happening in Minneapolis. The local media has been outstanding in their coverage.  Not only in it's completeness, but in being fair and unbiased.

It's possible there's a reporter with an eye out. I think the media would have reported it tho'.

Just remember what Abe Lincoln is quoted as saying. "Anyone can write anything on the internet."

A few days ago, the Governor asked the State Attorney General to take the lead on the case of prosecuting the four ex-policemen involved.

Derek Chauvin was charged with Third Degree Murder.  The AG has now amended the charges to also add Second Degree Murder and Second Degree Manslaughter. Those charges in addition to the original charge. So, he's facing three counts.

Today, charges were finally filed against the other three ex-cops. All three are charged with: Aiding and Abetting Second Degree Murder - Unintentional and Aiding and Abetting Second Degree Manslaughter - Culpable.
