CDC continues its responsibility to report New Cases of Covid19, it's charge by law is not in any jeopardy. Actually, the number of staff at CDC may well be in need of review, and reduction.

It is hard for them to report it when it disappears from their system and they no longer have the data.

And the Dashboard, other CDC data, has been restored at the order of President Trump. So, he fixed that for you, Toe...

The American public does not trust Trump.  He lies all the time.

I suspect this is just a temporary restoration of the data.  Trump's move will allow him to funnel only the data he allows to be transfered to the CDC.

What about this, Joan:

The White House is blocking US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Robert Redfield and other officials from the agency from testifying before a House Education and Labor Committee hearing on reopening schools next week, just as the debate over sending children back to classrooms has flared up across the US.

In other words, the Trump administration is blocking the CDC from providing basic, scientific information about the pandemic and its consequences.

As Virginia Congressman Bobby Scott put it:

"It is alarming that the Trump administration is preventing the CDC from appearing before the Committee at a time when its expertise and guidance is so critical to the health and safety of students, parents, and educators."

He's exactly correct.

October is the month that teachers are most likely to call in sick, according to a friend of mine that has worked as a substitute teacher for the last five years.  When children return to school they start sharing germs and take it home to their families. By October this sharing reaches its height.  I suspect COVID-19 will take the same path, and October-November will be our worst months.

CDC operates, supposedly, as a Executive Agency, answerable to the President of the United States. If that was ever in question, CDC is being reminded of that fact now.

Congress should call Vice President Mike Pence for advice about any health questions they may have, or just call the President, to find the best health advice person to interview in his Administration.

Some individuals in CDC, openly being among Trump hater untouchable Staff, enjoyed leaking sensitive information, unproven conclusions, to House Dems, and Dem Media Mafia, and thus are sought as 'reliable sources' by House Dems to attack our President on CSPAN, and on Sunday Shows, and thus earned the current restricted media status.

As you must be fully aware, of course.

Schools should reopen as quickly as is possible, consistent with their State Governor's, and State Health Department advice as to distancing, and masks.

That is the Federal Position on schools opening, for the benefit of Student Learning, availability of Parents for their gainful employment, to help our economy rebuild efficiently.

Federal payments made to State and Local areas to support education will be reduced/eliminated if State/Local Schools are not open, hosting students, as the funds will not be needed for the intended purpose for which they were to be used.

I have the antibody.   So does Dan.   Tested last week.  I had been sick March 11th.   I think I was sick after that once also, but not sure.   Never had major symptoms.   I did have a temperature for a bit on March 25th.

Maybe if everyone actually wore the mask, it might have.  The world may never know.

Green Bay Wisconsin has issued a mask mandate for areas of public use.  There are however exceptions to the rule that leave it so vague, people will find a way around wearing one.

Wisconsin is very close to being put on Illinois' list of states that if you come from Wisconsin or visited Wisconsin you have to self quarantine for 14 days. Hmmm, quarantined 14 days with Shiela doesn't sound bad at all... :emot_kiss:

Good news is that there are at least two vaccines in the works that look very promising.  A vaccine would help us get back to normal ASAP.

Sadly, several conspiracy theories are circulating and have led some folks proclaiming they will refuse the vaccine. Normally I would just applaud the Darwin awards that might result from this, but I fear there might be orphaned children. Having parents is more important  than getting rid of stupid parents.

Trump is touting a “cure” by the end of the year. That is something completely different from a vaccine. It is sad, but not surprising, that he doesn’t appear to understand the difference between the two.

Having said that, the vaccines that are currently showing some promise are neither proven safe or effective, but they are prompting an antibody response.  That’s certainly a step in the right direction.  We’ll have to wait and see if the reported side effects are dangerous or not.  And they are not universally effective, at this time.  In any event, I doubt we will have a safe and reliable vaccine available this year.

I wonder how much money was spent researching that study?
