Minnesota golf courses opening up today.  Grab your clubs and head to the North Star State.  Just keep your distance.

Did you say you want to grab my club?  8)  Probably still have snow on the ground by you.

On the Peruvian news last night that also covers the U.S., it was reported a restaurant owner died from COVID-19.  Just one of many, but we ate at that restaurant last year and had a long pleasant conversation with his wife.

Lima Restaurant & Bar, Queens NY.

They keep insisting there’s no food borne transmission of the virus, but I don’t see why this virus will be different than others. The virus can be moved on food. The question is, can it infect you, if you eat food with the virus on it? So far, they say no. But they’ve been wrong about other things too.

I've read yesterday that some are making claims that now dogs are transmitting the virus to people.  They're debunking it because there is no true evidence to support it.  They can make guesses like oh these people got it and they were all around the same dog, so I guess the dog did it. Same as with food.  They need to really test the theory.  The only thing I say with it not surviving on food is if its cooked and served hot.  Temp may kill it.  Eating a salad however...

You wanna hear something funny? At my kroger: Every scrap of shit paper is still gone.

All the Easter candy and baked goods at steep discounts are flooding a shelf. That shit never lasts a day half off before it's all gone. So people are still more obsessed with shit paper than cupcakes and brownies for $1.

So I bought up what I could. The kids already murdered two containers of brownies and cupcakes.

Also the price of eggs has gone way up.

At times I feel guilty.  I haven’t been hit much financially.  My Peruvian was furloughed, but still got her last check last week with the possibility of unemployment.  That is actually offset by us not driving or eating in restaurants.

I find I’m not missing going out much.  We enjoy each other’s company.  I’m also enjoying working from home.  I seem to be getting my job done expeditiously with plenty of time to do things like get dinner started in what would normally be work hours.  I’m having a lot of fun cooking.  I’m reading books again.

No one in the family is sick yet, but we have people we worry about.  All are staying home, but someone in the household has to go out occasionally, and that’s always is a risk.

So when I think about those like our fearless leader trying to get people back to work, I remember to temper my skepticism with my current situation, which is damn good compared to so many.

I filed for PPP (Payroll Protection Program) for our company that I recently retired from.   I received word on Wednesday that it was accepted by the SBA.  I received word from our bank on Thursday it was in underwriting.  Yesterday I received an email that it was approved.

I was so excited.   It means the people that have been laid off will be able to return to work.  I was going to tell the other co-owners on Monday, but as I said, I was excited.  So I emailed them this morning.    One replied with, "That doesn't sound right.  Our payroll is four times that."
My email response was, "I didn't include the owner salaries.  You weren't in danger of being laid off."   I COULD have included them in the calculations, but felt it was wrong to do that.

So, instead of them being happy about it, 2 of them are pissed at me.  hahaha.

They were not even going to apply for the PPP.  I just took it upon myself.  And as I explained to them, I did it to get the people back to work and off unemployment, which is the intent of the PPP.

The max I could claim for each of them is $100,000.  They all make much more than that.   So, they would receive 2 months of $100,000/annual, which works out to $16,666 but there is a multiplier in there that would bump it to $20833 per owner.   For the 3 of them, that would take an extra $62,500 out of the SBA funds and away from another company that might need it.    SUCH GREEDY ASSHOLES!   More worried not getting a piece of the pie than getting the employees back to work.

2,977 Americans died in 9/11 terrorist attack
5,668 Americans died in Afghanistan and Iraq wars
33,739 Americans died in Korean war
37,841 (currently) Americans died of covid-19 in 2 months

Another 9,000 and it'll be more than Vietnam war at 46,434 American deaths.

Yeah, I guess there's no need to be cautious and wait when it comes to the virus.

Limits for many items are being lifted because of availability.  Except toilet paper.  There is still strict limits on the number of rolls one can purchase.

With C-19 closing down major meat and poultry producers, shortages will soon occur.

Store boss flips off coronavirus hoarder asking for $10K toilet paper refund

A man in Australia who purchased around $10,000 worth of toilet paper and hand sanitizer was recently denied a refund by a supermarket owner.

John-Paul Drake, director of Drakes Supermarkets in Australia, recently posted a video to YouTube and appeared on a radio show to talk about the situation and why he denied the customer's refund request.

"I had my first customer yesterday who said he wanted to get a refund on 150 packets of 32-pack toilet paper and 150 units of one-liter [hand] sanitizer. I told him that," Drake said as he showed his middle finger to the camera.

How good is that bloke!

Restaurant Supply companies cold storage units are full, seems, for Meats, Fish and Poultry, in sizes of packaging normal for Hotel Kitchen orders, Restaurant Chef order sizes, of course. Prices remain stable, and a pre-order, then pickup during their hours is advised.

Hours may be 4AM through 2PM or even earlier close times, be advised. Look online for the list of items the company supplies, make your order according to their sizes of course, which may be in a 'range', so a Top Round Beef Roast, for instance, may sell in a range of 16lb to 26lb, and the stock on a given day may be impacted by size available.

Meats generally are packaged, vacuum packed in individual sizes, be flexible.
Check by phone, or online to assure they take the credit cards or if they take Cash, or if they take a check, prior to visiting for pickup.

Some sell vegetables, dinner rolls and other typical restaurant daily fare. Eggs in large flats may also be available, again, think Chef order sizes.

Some people are like the 'slinky'. Not really good for much,
but they bring a smile to your face as they fall down stairs.
