Why you should never share anything personal here.  Thanks for reminding me.  Now go fuck yourself.

Why would Americans buying firearms worry you, Ric?

We have a serious health issue and shortage of equipment and supplies and what do people do?  They run out and buy guns and ammo. The reasoning escapes me.

Well thank goodness I've never shared anything too personal here....

On a serious note, I truly hope things work out for you and your landlady.

Yeah, as we know CJ is a gun owner. Proud and law abiding. Everyone in this house has demanded I get rid of my property to appease them.

Now when the shit hits the fan and the security system isn't working, who are they going to get behind when the scavengers show up?  That's right, CJ and her "worthless" guns.

But it wont come to that. But if it did, we've all agreed we're gonna bug out to my grandparents. Where there's LOTS more guns.  :emot_laughing:

I will only speak for myself Joan. Bunker mentality. Hoarder syndrome.   Survival of the fittest (best armed).

Some fear shortages of goods will force them to either protect their assets or require them to forcibly obtain that which is in short supply.

I understand gun ownership for protection of family and for defense when attacked by aliens or brown skinned people crossing a border. To purchase for any other reason escapes me.

I read this weekend about a reissue of the most famous of the snake guns, the Colt Python.  I always wanted one, but that classic was always hideously expensive if even in decent used shape.  Makes me wonder if a reissue of the Colt Anaconda is next.

Anyways, I hate trying to gun shop when there’s a buying spree.  By the time the COVID-19 buying spree fades, Biden’s election will have the crying Trumptards running back to the gun shops again, erroneously buying the bullshit that the 2nd Amendment is about to be repealed.  I guess I’ll wait until next year.  It’s not like I don’t already have a .357 Magnum and two .44 Magnums.  Besides, it’s my two Springfield .45s and my Glock .40S&W that I keep loaded.

I have my one pistol and that's all I need.  I'll use my pepper spray or expandable baton before I reach for my side arm.

You try to steal my buttwipe and I'll spray you, crack you in the shin and then shove my rape whistle up your ass, so every time you break wind you'll be reminded to be nice.

My pistol is still buried in the bottom of my closet. Been a while, should re-oil it, proper maintenance and all.

Wifey got a "please come work for us!!" Job offer from a restaurant that's overwhelmed with carry out orders.

What a coup to get her. My mom will take over babysitting if she takes it, and I expect she will. My mom can work from home anyway, just like I used to.

Wifey going from fancy fucking restaurant to making burgers and fries.  :emot_laughing:

There are economic opportunities in this disaster.

I got nagging guilt that my support for local restaurants is exactly zilch right now.  No carry out and no delivery at all for over two weeks now, and I don’t see that changing for the next couple weeks.

I over bought food, and some of it is perishable.  That combined with that I can actually cook, and I’m creative in using what I have, makes it a bit nonsensical to spend even more money on food I don’t need.  And, I don’t feel the urge to spray Lysol on any of it.

Besides, I don’t eat out to get a good meal (that I can do myself).  I eat out to be around people, something inadvisable at the moment.

I still feel guilty.  I know too many people who work at or even own restaurants.  I know how much their lives suck right now, certainly a lot worse than mine.  I’m sitting in my kitchen tapping occasionally on my work computer and getting paid the same as always.

Down goes Michigan.

Governor issues "stay at home stay safe" executive order going into effect at midnight for 3 weeks.

Down goes our Minnesota Governor.  He's been exposed to the virus and will be running the state from his home.

Meanwhile, his Lt. Gov. has lost her brother to the virus.

Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan’s brother has died after contracting COVID-19.

The lieutenant governor said her brother Ron, who lived in Tennessee, was diagnosed with cancer several weeks ago and his immune system was compromised when he got the coronavirus.

Wisconsin is down!

Gov. Tony Evers ordered the closure of all non-essential businesses starting Tuesday, and is urging people to stay at home to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus that has killed four people in the state and infected at least nearly 400.

Evers tweeted Monday that he would be signing the "safer-at-home" order on Tuesday. It comes after Evers already ordered K-12 schools and a host of other businesses closed, including bars, restaurants and hair salons, and limited gatherings to no more than 10 people.

I hope my cheese shop is considered essential.

As I try to follow the political side of this crisis, I can't help but wonder...

If today's Congress and President were faced with World War II, would we all be speaking German now.  Maybe Japanese on the west coast.

New York's Gov. Cuomo is the only one making any sense.

As far as I know they are struggling to stay in stock.  They can only produce so much and are rationing sales by the onces to people, at least the one my dad buys it from, he went on friday and was only aloud 6 ounces.  Probably gone by saturday evening.

MN Senator Amy Klobuchar's husband is now diagnosed  with the virus.

Klobuchar said her husband, who works as a law professor in Baltimore, had quarantined himself and stopped going to work after coming down with cold symptoms.

Shelter-in-Place Order Issued in Dallas County (Texas)

Here is the Order:  https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6817019-Dal-Co-Amendment.html

But look at the exhibits.  400,000+ deaths in Texas alone?  Someone is either smoking crack, or we have a lot to worry about.

Ran into Kroger yest for some fried chicken. Store was near empty.  Oh well, easy to find a parking spot.
