April: U.S. Death Rate From All Causes (Including
COVID-19) At Multi-Year Lows

Apr 18
The U.S. crude death rate (mortality from all causes) still remains at multi-year lows despite COVID-19. The CDC tracks deaths attributed to the flu, pneumonia, and all causes on this website.

You can download the data as verify for yourself: Just go to this CDC website and click the green ‘downloads’ button. They have complete data for total U.S. deaths up until week 14 (week ending April 5th, 2020).

Chef Boyardee sales are hot during the coronavirus: Conagra Brands CEO.

Pasta and pasta sauce is probably the number one thing flying through our warehouse.  Followed closely by ramen.

Chef Boyardee doesn't qualify as pasta or sauce.  :D

I would rather spend the rest of this pandemic eating chef than eating that poor excuse for ramen made by Maruchan  0vomit0

Rural America is especially in danger.  There are far fewer hospitals in the stix.  I doubt they have very many ICU beds in those hospitals.

On the more positive side, testing shows 30% of the people of New York City have antibodies to the virus.  I just hpe the rest of the country does not have to go through what New York experienced.

I feel very bad for the doctors and nurses.  This virus has really taken its toll on them. Repeated exposure and not being allowed to take time to rest has been deadly.

I grew up on Chef Boyardee.  Probably a major reason you will never find a can of it in our house. Nor liver, nor stewing chicken, etc.

Less hospitals, less people, less contact due to space between people normally. See Lois you have to ask why there are less hospitals and icu beds. People stacked on top of people are the “especially in danger” ones, as well as those with health issues. Again common sense.

Yeah, use some common sense people like our resident genius here.  We all know that people in rural areas never have to leave those areas to say, go to the store, post office, auto repair, co-ops, and fleet stores to get supplies. They spend their entire existence out on the farm.  And of course the only reason a person may need a hospital bed is because of covis-19.  Nobody gets serious injuries, or illnesses anymore especially those who live in the country.

You telling others to use common sense.

hypocrisy, they name is gunnerman

Ironman-did I say people don’t go to the store or auto shops and such. Common sense is something that you have completely chosen to give up. Even in the articles that Lois listed, the facts don’t change sweetpea. As I said dipshit “less” contact. No shit? Yeah on average there is less contact with people. That’s a truth. You are a fucking whining dipshit who is full of fear and vomiting stupidity. My wife who is three months in remission and yet goes to work everyday has more grit than your dumbass will ever. Ironman, you’re a bitch all the way through sweetheart.

After a backlash, the Shake Shack CEO gave back the $10m.  Said he didn’t realize the money would run out so fast.

Never heard of Shake Shack prior to this thread.

You are fun when you're pissy.  I really like how you think you know me off of what? 6 comments.  It only takes one time.  One encounter with a person who just doesn't give a shit.  Now when the hospital beds in the cities fill up, you ever stop and think of where the overflow goes?  Especially if we open things up too soon.  Of course you did, you're hoarding all the common sense.

I will say i hope your wife does well in remission

Shake Shack is a huge company. Their burgers are actually very good; my favorite fast food joint. They claim to have a “social conscience“ and this money grab got them a lot of bad press. I guess we should give them credit for realizing that, and taking action. I guarantee you, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse will not be giving their loan money back.

Dr. Mehmet Oz, former heart surgeon, told Fox News Sean Hannity that reopening schools was an "appetizing opportunity" given that it may "only cost us 2 to 3% in terms of total mortality."

Hey, Oz. Would you be willing to gamble your children's lives, whether they be students, teachers, bus drivers, janitors?

Ironman-haha right sweetheart, even on your best day your little bitch ass couldn’t piss me off darlin. Weak asses like yourself are easy as shit to read. Where do you think many of the support comes from? My wife knows many that chose to go help in hard hit areas. That could potentially leave a shortage in this rural area as well but this doesn’t make what I’ve said any less true, in fact it helps. Stay home dipshit, you’re safe there.

Seems there are a few in the area, the nearest 20 miles away.  I’m not much for any chain, prefer local restaurants.  There’s a few I’ve been to in Baltimore that I know are part of a larger business, not sure how responsible they are.  In Washington I like to frequent any restaurant by Jose Andres.  He gives so much back, a classy guy.

I’ve been to Ruth’s Chris maybe a couple times, but not recently.  I won’t go there again unless it’s to use a gift card with no other options.

I’m considering ending what has been a long relationship with Bank of America.  I considered that in the past too, but rethinking it.  I plan on having a zero balance end of the month before pulling the trigger on that.  And I’d never do business with Wells Fargo under any circumstances.  Any recommendations on an ethical bank in which to open a credit card account as a replacement?
