The couple in question in the case of ingesting Fish Tank Cleaner powder, is more in line with "Florida Man" posts. The people ignored the Poison Control Phone Number, Skull and Crossbones, and somehow believed something stored under their utility sink could take the place of a Prescription Medication...

You must have gotten the "Fish Tank Cleaner Powder" from the news.  I heard that too, but they did not get it right.  No skull & crossbones on the package either.

Chloroquine Phosphate is a replacement for both copper sulfate and quinine and it is superior to copper sulfate and all quinine salts.  Chloroquine is used as a bacteriacide, an algaecide and as an antimalarial.  It is superior in the fight against ICH, slimness of the skin and flukes and can be used as both a treatment and a preventative.

One day into her temp job and wifey has been offered the full time job once this is over.  :emot_laughing:

I don't think she'll take the pay cut.  ;D

I actually got a slight pay increase with this new job, and it has better insurance, but there is no way I'd do this over my old job. There is no joy in this.  Just back breaking labor.

Opportune cost.

I totally get it.  The majority of my business is in the wine industry and events.  So these coming months are going to be rough. Good luck Chirp.

My kind of guy. I am doing my part by increasing my daily amount of wine.  ;D ;D

CNN said the highest growth of cases in the world is in Louisiana.  I saw Mississippi has had a surge of cases too.

I had hoped warm weather would cause this to taper off for those in places like NY, NJ, CT, PA, MA and Jules’ MI, but now it’s not looking so good as a theory with what’s happening in southern states.

My own state, I sense the growth is less than many areas.  We largely got and adhered to the social distancing message.

I think there is going to be a huge surge in florida as all those college kids, who obviously know best, don't listen to reason and go out for spring break.  They're going to get stuck down there if they catch it.

Fortunately cases are still low in Arizona, and today is payday.  I think I'm going to get myself some gin & tonic - for medicinal purposes only of course.

Another tip:  I used to get at least 3 colds every year, and sometimes they left me coughing and with bronchitis for a very long time.  Then I broke my ankle, was diagnosed with osteoperosis and started taking very high doses of vitamin D to help my bones stay strong.  Surprise!  I also have not had a cold in two years, well until getting back from Oregon in February and it was very mild.

Now it has come out that Vitamin D also boosts immune function.  Might help you fight Corona virus, too?  I just hope the word does not spread too far or I won't be able to find Vitamin D anymore, and I'll have to lie in the sun to create it myself.  I'll have to be carefull though as folks with red-hair tend to sunburn easily.

Vitamin D and respiratory health
D A Hughes* and R Norton†

ABSTRACT
Vitamin D is now known to be of physiological importance outside of bone health and calcium homeostasis, and there is mounting evidence that it plays a beneficial role in the prevention and/or treatment of a wide range of diseases. In this brief review the known effects of vitamin D on immune function are described in relation to respiratory health. Vitamin D appears capable of inhibiting pulmonary inflammatory responses while enhancing innate defence mechanisms against respiratory pathogens. Population-based studies showing an association between circulating vitamin D levels and lung function provide strong justification for randomized controlled clinical trials of vitamin D supplementation in patients with respiratory diseases to assess both efficacy and optimal dosage.

Keywords: inflammation, immune function, lung, vitamin D

I read a story about 7 kids from the University of Tampa who partied together for spring break, and *all 7* came down with Coronavirus.

Stocks rally as Senate gives hundreds of billions to corporations.

Who'd guess that would happen?

I doubt stocks are rallying.  It is prolly just the corporations buying back their own stocks to raise the price and make investors happy.

The stock market really does not mean much these days as corporate officers use it to bolster their own income and not to invest back into their company.

Stocks sold in IPO's are different and are actually used for R&D or to wind up production.  Established corporations have no need of stock sales except to grant themselves stock options so they can suck the blood out of investors for personal gain at some future date.

Stocks had a 1,000 point rally by mid afternoon, but shed half of that before closing.  The Dow finished up about 495, but has still lost over 8,000 points since mid February.

I’m on Vitamin D Lois.  I take it daily, and a high dose once a week.

I also rarely get colds, and they are mild if I do.

Not so fast...  from Associated Press, “the drive by leaders to speed the bill through the Senate was slowed as four conservative Republican senators demanded changes, saying the legislation as written “incentivizes layoffs” and should be altered to ensure employees don’t earn more money if they’re laid off than if they’re working.”

Minnesota goes down at 11:59 PM Friday. Governor issued the stay at home order this afternoon. Nothing has been said about what enforcement if any there will be

Workers in essential services are to stay on the job. Grocery stores, drug stores, health care, etc. will continue to operate and people who need to may leave their homes to use these services.

As for enforcement, seems the Governor wants to rely on people to use their common sense.  Right... that worked so well in the grocery stores when all this started. :emot_banghead:

Scientists have said countries or areas that have a daily average temperature of 67.5 F have less  of the virus outbreak then countries or areas that average from 34 to 67.5 F daily average temperature.  So hopefully, when summer comes to the U.S. the virus will be gone, if not before then.

Native Americans would gorge themselves in time of plenty as preparation for times when food was hard to find.  I tell myself that’s what’s going on with me to justify why it’s OK I’m getting so fat.

The experts (I’m not one) just say the virus will move south in the summer, to the Southern Hemisphere.
