Down goes public transport in Detroit.   Bus drivers refusing to report to work due to concerns of contracting the virus.

Auto workers are walking off the job due to lack of hot water in some plants and the ability to wash properly.  Also because of close quarters.   The news showed a video of blue collar worker complaining that auto employers are protecting the white collar by having them work from home, while line workers don't have sufficient means to clean or protect themselves.

One of my guy friends works for a grocery store supply warehouse UNFI, he said they are so overwhelmed trying to keep up with demand that hes been forced to work12 hours a day 6 days a week and they have encouraged him to volunteer his only day off.  Said they cant force all 7 days a week otherwise they would. Floor supervisor are working instead of supervising and legal driving restrictions have been raised off drivers who drive for them.

Since nobody is going anywhere we have zero pets in boarding its putting my hours into question, my time there has me right on that cut line.

We've decided to "shelter in place". I need to go to the store and see what provisions I can stock up on.  Wife can't drive, so if anything happens to me we'll be relying on neighbors for any need. Three have already told us they're available.

In the meantime, here's my quarantine control....

The Mall of America...one of the largest shopping meccas in the U.S. is closing down at five pm today for at least two weeks. No doubt most other retail outlet will follow suit.  Amazon is hiring several thousand people to help keep up with increased on line ordering.

Went to vote this morning and the poll workers all had plastic gloves on. But the eerie part was I was the only person there and the area around the polling site was absent of people. It was like an early Sunday morning, it was so quiet.

72 active cases with one recovered.  Everything is closed and people rushing to the grocery store.  No group activities with more than 10 people... except grocery shopping.

We can have 50 people gathered in line to check out but you can't drink with them at a bar.

I have a fridge and cupboard filled with accoutrements for my bloody Mary so I'm good for a bit :emot_kiss:

Florida poll workers took the day off, many hundreds of them. Should be another interesting Florida election, eh?

Some people are like the 'slinky'. Not really good for much,
but they bring a smile to your face as they fall down stairs.

My almost 6 year old is putting chocolate syrup in water so she doesn't drink up all the milk so everyone can have some when they need it shows more intelligence and selflessness than the so called adults right now.

Shopping was strange, because nothing on my fantasy list was on the shelves in stock.  So you start out thinking... “I need some butter.”  And end up buying “European butter” for twice what you normally pay.  Do that thirty more times and you end up with an odd assortment of items.  We have ribs, drumsticks, and sausage.  Should have bought some hot dog buns.

The meat choices at the grocery store are getting rather bleak.

You could be living in California where they are seriously thinking of cancelling school until summer, if they haven't done it already.

As if California wasn't a big enough disaster.
