Maybe the media made the markets worse, but I still 100% disagree they made this outbreak worse.  With a president in denial for several weeks, the media are who warned us, who corrected the facts and cited the real experts, when he was still trying to spin this as no big deal.  It took him until today to seem to get it.

With a history of respiratory issues and a wife going to her day care job (a Petri dish of germs worse than a cruise ship), I have a sense of foreboding I don’t recall ever having.  I still agree she did the right thing, but it doesn’t make it any less scary.  Even if I have enough TP.

What really reassures me right now is I’m much better prepared than MissB with alcohol.

More people will die from drug overdoses, drunk driving, gun violence and the flu. Where is the outrage because of these deaths or have we just come to believe that these deaths are acceptable and turn a blind eye ? As for the panic I lay the blame squarely at the feet of the media. They will do all they can to cause fear and spread panic. They do have their shareholders to think about. But what the coronavirus has done is really show how damn stupid the vast majority of the population is.

Drug overdose,  drunk driving, and gun violence is not contagious. They have their own battlefields.

The flu, even though deadly, has much more effective ways to fight it and prevent it.  Every year I get swamped by physicians pushing the flu shot on me.  Walk into walmart, Walgreen, or local grocery store without seeing flyers or banners pushing for shots.  I've gotten colds, but cant remember the last time I got the flu so bad I needed medical attention other than nyquil and bed rest.

However I do agree that the media has made things worse.  Perhaps if they just gave out need to known information instead of throwing all the panick shopping drama on top of it, it may be less...... idiotic... out there.

During the last 10 days or so, I think most media members have done exactly what you recommend, and have pivoted from "the sky is falling" to a more sane and informative approach to dealing with the coronavirus and the hourly-changing circimstances surround it.

We only have very expensive wine. CJ already needs a drink. But I wont because I don't drink alcohol unless it's a holiday dinner or special occasion.

How about some freshly baked bread warm from the oven to wipe your butt with?  I can make them the size of buns, so buns for your buns.

Crumbs can be a big problem. They get caught in "the crack" and will start to chafe. Not fun.

I was going to ask how you knew that, but then I think back and I can recall a number of times I've woken up with... leftovers... from a night of food play. Not bread, but to each their own  :emot_laughing:

Bread.  Went to the store yesterday and there was absolutely no bread.  My guess is that people are planning to wipe with that when their paper runs out :emot_laughing:

The store opened late today, partially restocked.  No bread.  They did have hotdog buns.  So had the pleasure of watching soccer moms snatch four packs of hot dog buns off the shelf.  “You want a hot dog?  I have one for you right here...”

So we discussed where to buy bread.  I suggested an out of the way gas station.  They had five loaves of bread.  I started to buy two... but that’s crazy talk.  I bought one.

Shopping was strange, because nothing on my fantasy list was on the shelves in stock.  So you start out thinking... “I need some butter.”  And end up buying “European butter” for twice what you normally pay.  Do that thirty more times and you end up with an odd assortment of items.  We have ribs, drumsticks, and sausage.  Should have bought some hot dog buns.

I only buy unsalted European butter.  I got 2.5 large 2x sized of those now in the fridge, and I’m slightly ashamed to say it’s still on my shopping list.

Neither does chocolate syrup, ice cream, smuckers strawberry jam, peanut butter, maraschino cherry juice/grenadine, and if you plan on doing body shots don't use baileys...

However, coconut oil makes you're skin super smooth.

I'm at 100.4 F right now. Grrrr.

Still feeling ok.  Not the typical joint aches I get with a fever.

Maybe my thermometer isn't working properly.

You can hope it's a problem with your thermometer, but I wouldnt bank on it. Really hope you feel better and this passes fast.

Finally got through to the advise nurse.  She says the symptoms per the CDC is fever, caughing and shortness of breath, and while 100.4 qualifies as a fever, it is not a high temperature.  She's clearind me to go back to work so long as I'm not coughing and spreading germs everywhere.

I'll wear a mask to make sure my fingers don't get mouth germs on them, and wash my hands after every customer.
