Same thing in green bay after Rodgers left. Everybody saying that "Love isn't the guy" "fire Matt Lafleur". Then they made it to the playoffs, and it was all switched around and people saying they've "always believed in Love."

The defensive coordinator had to go and he did. My dad and brother are all alo about who's gonna stay and who's leaving and how they need to improve the team. Family conversation in the off season is the same as during the season. Dad and Jason talking football, Jen and I just blank staring and listening.🤣

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Former Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones, released by the team Monday, has agreed to a deal to stay in the NFC North. The Athletic and NFL Network are reporting Jones is ready to sign with the Minnesota Vikings.

NFL Network’s Tom Pellissero says Jones is signing a one-year contract for $7 million.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst confirmed Jones’s release Tuesday afternoon.

“We want to thank Aaron for his unwavering commitment to the Packers and the community over the past seven seasons,” added Gutekunst. “It is certainly one of the hardest decisions we’ve had to make in my time with the Packers and not one taken lightly. He has not only had a significant impact on the field and in the locker room, but he is one of the most beloved players in the community. We wish nothing but the best for Aaron and his entire family moving forward.”

It would seem Chicago couldn't push him out the door fast enough, letting him go for a (conditional) 6th round pick in 2025. Guess we know what the early focus will be when the draft rolls around.

Pittsburgh now has Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Couple of big egos right there.

I think the Bears waited too long in making a decision on whether to keep Fields or trade him. By the time management made up their minds to trade him for what they thought he was worth, his value greatly decreased. It is puzzling, though, they traded him to Pittsburgh, as the Steelers just signed Wilson. Since most of Wilson's salary will be paid by Denver, if the Steelers do cut Wilson, they would only be out very little money. Fields is a QB who needs a team that believes in his way of playing. The Bears and their numerous coaching changes and quarterback philosophies, I think, never had Fields playing at his potential.

That's what dad and my brother were saying. They never coached fields properly. They needed a new QB coach not a new QB. Then they were saying they were happy they screwed that up, otherwise justin may have made the bears an actual threat instead of two guaranteed wins LoL

A lot of Bears fans think picking up Williams will automatically make them a Super Bowl contender. Then again, I've talked to a few Bears fans who would rather have kept Fields and passed on Williams. The Bears will NOT be a threat unless they do what they did not do for Fields: shore up to O-Line and get better receivers.

Tyron Smith left the Cowboys to go to the Jets and play with Aaron Rodgers. If the rumors are true about AR being a Sandy Hook shooting conspiracy theory believer, then I hope Rodgers gets hurt again. If they're not true, then I hope he just plays like crap. Will be absolutely extatic when he finally retires so I can quit hearing about the most overrated QB and one of the biggest douchebags in the league.

Any opinions on the new kick off policy being instituted this season? Imagine people were getting bored with kickers kicking the ball into the end zone most of the time. Why not move kickoffs back ten yards or more so that most of the balls kicked will stay in the field of play.

Lucas - I am one who thought Fields could have been better if he had a better O line protecting him. Chicago is not known for nurturing good or great quarterbacks. Hopefully, Williams will succeed where many have failed.

The kickoff return rate dropped to only 21% last season. The NFL predicts 50% to 60% of kickoffs will be returned now. It will be interesting to see. It will add about 1,000 special team plays to the season.

So... Jules mentioned Dan and a friend being at the NFL Draft in Detroit. Question? When did picking players become a spectator sport?

Not to be an old fuddy duddy but what is there to see. Seems like a bunch of back room stuff with teams trading spots to get better pick position. Is there a light show when a pick is made? Cheerleading from some of the teams.

Ok, Jules mentioned there was a bar and Dan had a designated driver so there's that. Otherwise I see a lot of dead time between picks. Maybe Dan can report it to Jules and she'll let us know.

Just a random thought I wanted to pass on to the board.

My brother was complaining about who the packers drafted. I didnt even know it was happening already. I thought it happened in july or august or something.

He was saying somthing about picking offense when the defense needed help, blah, blah, blah. I was half sleeping and wanting to throw up on his shoes.

Dad wasn't upset at all. Saying they were upset about a lot of picks and trades they did the last two years, and it turned out to be great. Youngest team in the NFL almost making the championship. Then Jason pointed out of the defense was better, they might have made it.

At that point I dragged my ass off the sofa and went to my room.

Half of those schools will be in the Big 10 next year. Three are SEC teams, counting Texas. That's seven of the eight schools on the list. Just an observation about where the power of college football lies.

1. Not my team. I'm a Cowboys fan.
2. He's been spewing way overconfident bs, acting like he's the greatest QB ever, when he has yet to play a single down. Actually contacting the punter they also drafted and telling him he won't actually have to punt was the icing on the cake. There's confidence, then there's cocky arrogance. Williams has the latter.

What I'm not happy about is that the Cowboys are bringing Ezekiel Elliott back. But fortunately its only a 1 year deal.

Also, I find it ludicrous that the Falcons actually said they might sit Penix Jr for four or five years. No way Cousins lasts that long. I expect Penix to be starting at some point during the season, if not the next.
