National Grab Some Nuts Day

Well,  what's so special here.  I grab mine every day.  Sometimes by mistake.  The "Boys" are so much bigger than my little old dick.

I just ate a handfull of walnuts with a peach.  The walnuts are pretty common in the morning while I wait for the water to boil fro coffee.  The stonefruit is a seasonal treat.

So, maybe Grab some Nuts day is every day for me?

Oh my fucking Fod.  Not intentional, but would have been if I had known.

Passenger in clown suit prompted mass cruise ship brawl, say witnesses.

Mmm, National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day.

With mass shootings yesterday and early this morning, Friendship Day should be every day. Very sad.

It is Barack Obama Day.

Cool!  He does deserve a day, if anyone does.  What's the significance of August 4th, though?  1 month after Independence Day?

The state of Illinois passed legislation, signed into law by Gov. Bruce Rauner on Aug. 4, 2017:

August 4th of each year is designated as Barack Obama Day, to be observed throughout the State as a day set apart to honor the 44th President of the United States of America who began his career serving the People of Illinois in both the Illinois State Senate and the United States Senate, and dedicated his life to protecting the rights of Americans and building bridges across communities.

Let's hope it becomes a National Observance soon, then.  I'm not going to call him the best President we ever had, but I can unreservedly call him the best in my lifetime (So far.)

Passing on a sad bit of news, I think this topic is the best place to post it....

I've been on vacation the last 5-ish days, checking in occasionally.  While I was gone, I received a PM from Remmy.  He has decided to leave us.  I enjoyed his time here.

“People come, people go – they’ll drift in and out of your life, almost like characters in a favorite book. When you finally close the cover, the characters have told their story and you start up again with another book, complete with new characters and adventures. Then you find yourself focusing on the new ones, not the ones from the past.” - Nicholas Sparks

You might not know this, but I have a thing for Tom Brady (and Bill Clinton)
