Late freeze killed all the blooms on my peach and nectarine trees this year.  I have a friend in Fredericksburg with a huge peach operation.  Plan on having some fresh peaches and peach ice cream this weekend.

Onion rings....I love them, but I can't eat a bunch.  I like to eat just one off of someone elses plate if they will allow it.

Then one day I discovered Bavarian cream filled donuts, and realized I didn’t have to eat yucky chocolate donut frosting, and a lot of cake, to get to the good part.

National Onion Ring Day. I remember when Outback Steak House served their famous onion loaf along with Foster's beer.

I went to Chili’s the other day, and they no longer have the Onion Blossom on the menu.



Instead they have something called “Blooming Petals” which are French fried onion pieces.  Not 1/10th as good.
