Coaches are usually paid through athletic department donations, so I'd wouldn't subtract from that.

That's not including NCAA tournment revenue to the conference that gets divided up to the schools, either.

Can anyone recommend a website where I can read reviews of the current championship and World Series games?  The MLB website is very comprehensive but seems to be full of video clips and soundbites and I'm having trouble finding what I would call a proper review of each game. 

This disatisfaction on my part may be because I prefer to consume all news via printed media and not online.

I hear ya.  I don’t like videos.  I don’t like YouTube. I like the printed word.  I use the ESPN app on my phone, and something called Sports Alerts, that will send you text messages for your favorite teams.  It can be a final score, or an update anytime someone puts points on the board.  It also has stats, etc.

If you are on Facebook or Reddit there are pages for any team you follow.  Some clutter, but they typically have links to interesting articles and stats.

Tough being a fan in the 21st Century.  More information available than ever, but a lot of dross also that you have to shovel through.

Basketball is the sport where the tall guys try to throw a big orange ball through a hoop. Baseball is the sport where the guys in silly-looking uniforms and goofy socks try to hit a little white ball with a stick.

Now, you know.

I agree with you. I don't like the video-heavy sites either, and I'm old-school enough that I prefer to read words.

While I don't follow many sports closely other than football/soccer, along with an occasional peak at how the Cubs and Bears are doing, I've found BleacherReport to be more text-heavy than ESPN or the other sites. They also aggregate stories from elsewhere. I find that particularly helpful when following European football.
