With both the NCAA Division I Tournament starting one week from tonight, and the NBA playoffs right around the corner, here's a thread to discuss college and professional basketball.

Let's not to discuss college recruiting or high school, most players are underage and there are millions of message boards to discuss these topics anyhow.

I, well we, watched the Michigan vs MSU game on Saturday night.  It was for the Big Ten regular season championship.   It's the first basketball game I watched since last years college championship game.  It was fun to watch.  My daddy rooting for one team, Mark rooting for the other. 

I only watch sports if I'm with someone that wants to watch it.  Then I'm all into it.  I should watch more basketball.  I do watch bowling by myself though.  I know, probably the only person here that watches bowling.

Amazed that Texas is still on the bubble at 16-16. No team with a .500 record has ever been invited, nor any team with 16 losses.

Have you ever watched college women's games? Given a top-10 match-up between men's and women's teams, I'd choose to watch the ladies play. It's very entertaining. Their tournament is the week after the men's.

Shaka Smart might be in over his head.  He can't outrecruit people at Texas like he could at VCU.

You're right of course. I guess I was thinking of the conference tournaments but I even got that backwards. Women were first (last week), then the men (this week).

That explains why there's so little TV coverage of the women's tournament.  :(

Michigan State, for coming from behind to beat Michigan for the Big 10 championship, was seeded #2 in the toughest conference while Michigan was seeded in a weaker conference. Strange how these things work.

MSU got punished for playing a weaker non conference schedule.

Also, they lost to Illinois.

Houston lost to Cincinnati and is seeded 3 while Cincinnati is seeded 5th. Records are similar and they play in the same conference.
