They would be crucified by social media as well. No smartphone cameras to catch their every off-field move in those days.  Worthington's autobiography is titled "One Hump Or Two?"  ;D

I started following in the mid/late 90s and decided back then I'd like Newcastle best. In my defense that was at the tail end of the 'Entertainers' era, but I've spent much of the last 20 years hoping the latest defeat wasn't too one-sided  :facepalm:

Ashley's blatant attempt to rename the ground as the SportsDirect stadium met with so much derision from fans all over England that he retracted it.

Obi - I watched the Chelsea ladies beat the Aston Villa ladies 2 - 0 today on a cold, blustery day in south London. Same weather we had in Chicago. I wonder what their pay is compared to the mens?

Oh the humiliation. I can hear MissB smirking from here.

Chelsea were awful, a man down against a team second from bottom should not present an insurmountable problem, they had no idea how to play when a man down and a goal up, most teams will practice this scenario. The manager underestimated West Brom and thought a rusty Silva would do a job for him.  Jorginho was awful, continually putting other players in trouble.  Pulisic pulled a hamstring running on at half time! His injury record will soon earn him the "Sicknote" accolade.

West Brom's finishing was exemplary though and they took their chances well.

Woohoo, three points for Newcastle!  8)

I also watched a bit of West Ham/Leicester. It seems like the players that have left Man Utd since OGS became manager have done better in their new homes, like Lukaku at Inter, Smalling at Roma, and now Lingard at West Ham.

Spurs had ManU up by one at half. This year, it seems ManU is a second half team. Scored three on the Spurs for a win.
