No, he hasn't.  He was nominated in July.  It's called a background check.  Not "FBI efforts to dig up dirt," he's not applying to work at a daycare here.

I love this, delusion that an investigation that hasn't even been going on for 3 months is a failure to "Dig up dirt."  Do you really expect a routine FBI background check to go "Nope, didn't find anything" in 3 months?  For a lifelong position in the highest court in the country.  "Nope," case closed.  Just peek in the folder, "I didn't see anything, did you?"

File it under the rug.

Or do you just rally behind your side, and ignore all reason, or knowledge of how the government actually works, because the Golden Calf in Chief can't fuck up hiring someone.  As he has, for his entire career since The Apprentice.

We've got 2 counts of sexual misconduct, and lying under oath to get a job as a judge.  So far, and we're not even 3 months into the background check.  I can only assume that you expect the same thorough job vetting for SCotUS as you settled for PotUS.  Not that Donny ever committed any sexual impropriety, or lied under oath.

Part of me believes that Obama still should have the right to appoint one judge, but that is because I do believe that they did NOT have the right to block his appointment.

However, at this point the accuser named up 4 witnesses, and those 4 witnesses all said that it never happened.

So, like it or not I feel that he's passed the accusation part of the vetting process and it's up to Congress to move further and discount the accusation. 

And, as much as I believe that we the people should vote on SCOTUS justices, we can't, so at the moment it's not up to us, it's up to the people that we've elected to represent us.

And that being said--and I understand how this goes against a lot of people here--but I believe that it's congresses job to represent the people that voted them into office and NOT just the east and west coasts.

That's not my decision.  And frankly I don't care.

What is currently bothering me are people like you that seemingly want to throw due process out the window when it suits them politically.

I don't think he's the best potential candidate...but unlike the Authoritarian crap you're spewing, I do NOT think he'll convict on the basis of accusation alone.

This is America, we still need proof, you still need evidence, you still need witnesses.  you can't just accuse someone of a crime because you don't like them, and then convict them of the crime based on the accusation.  And that is exactly what you are arguing for here.

Don't you see how that is crossing a line?  you aren't being "progressive" anymore.  You are being authoritarian.  you are arguing against one of the most important points on the checklist of a free society...due process.  And I don't think you even know you're doing it.

I think you're just seeing red and it's blinding you to the fact that you've already convicted someone without a shred of evidence and no collaborating witnesses.  But based on the accusation alone, you're willing to convict.
