Can't afford health insurance but she and her husband make too much money to qualify for Obama-care, and she has a family to support.  So every year since Obama signed the law into place, she has had to pay tax penalties to the IRS for not having health insurance.

I had no idea that was going on.

Nice of Obama and the IRS to do that to people.

But I suppose it's OK, you know, because he's Obama, the first black president, and he can do no wrong, even when he does.

Fuck off.

Congrats, ST! This is the most obvious troll post you've ever made here!

Speaking of things that you had no idea were going on, in the U.S., laws are not enacted by presidential proclamation (and neither by a white nor black president). Laws are passed, and bills become laws, when enacted by Congress. Thus, neither Obama nor the IRS "did that to people."

I would blame our commercial insurance industry, and the states who failed to support the ACA in its entirety.

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Or, in the vein of the conservative talking points, “it’s their fault they don’t make enough money to afford health insurance. I’ve got mine, fuck them.”

Who made it law that you must have health insurance?  When my government tells me I have to be insured or pay them a penalty, I say fuck off.  It's none of their fucking business.

And where did I make a racist post?  I don't believe in race.  I believe each person should be judged by their actions.

I remember when Obama was elected and everybody was celebrating that we had our first black president.  And I asked, what's his color got to do with anything?  I'm concerned with his policies.  I was called a racist right out of the box because I didn't kiss and hug the guy.

It's not about race, but you keep mentioning his race.  Got it.

Because people without health insurance gonthe ER, which is REQUIRED by law to treat all people regardless of their ability to pay. These ERs then up their charges so those who can pay subsidize those who can’t.

Wake the fuck up. It is cheaper to have all people covered by insurance and paying, than to wing it and take the money only from those who have insurance.

As in the states whose population most desperately needed the ACA.

Some states like New Jersey....medical care has gotten so out of hand with cost that Insurance Companies have bailed from the state (the most recent one was CIGNA, they decided to leave NJ completely). Blue Cross and Blue Shield jumped up their "Gold" coverage to $1400.00 dollars a month (who the hell, but the most very rich can afford to pay that)..?? My own insurance policy is now at $800.00 dollars a month (for full and complete coverage, no deductible). Further what's more (worse) is that the government has labeled my insurance plan a "Cadillac Policy" and they want to penalize me for it. The penalty in New Jersey for NOT having an insurance policy is a fine of $250.00 dollars per month taken from your tax returns by the IRS.

Love,
Liz

The ACA is far from perfect, but until we can get the Congress and the President to support a "Medicare for all" solution it's the best we can do.
