Hi everyone I’m a new member and was wondering
What’s the best way to post a story with multiple chapters
Do I just add the next chapter I write to the original post or start a new thread with the name and chapter number.
Thanks.

Two schools of thought in regards to that (some here may disagree with me on that):
1. You post each chapter in a separate post in the same thread. This is what I do personally, as well as a lot of us, as it keeps everything together.
2. Post each chapter in a separate thread. Only seriously recommended if the chapters are really long, although a few probably will recommend this regardless of chapter length.

Extinguishing the Flame is available on Amazon and supports Australian Bush fire relief.

Welcome Wayne,

We ask that chapters remain in the same thread.

Readers can have a difficult time finding the next chapter when they're spread throughout the board.

Didn’t we just lock all access after 24 hours?

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Access to modify a post is blocked after 24 hours, but you can of course reply, and I'm pretty sure that's what they mean here...

yea why do people post a whole new topic for a new chapter? it makes it hard to find the first chapter when i find chapter 2 of a story that looks like it might be interesting ... though if you insist on doing separate topic add links between the chapters in their topic replies

Thank you for the comment Chichi.

As you said, it can be difficult on the reader to find follow ups to a story.   We are now requiring authors to post in the same thread as stated in this link.

Hi Guys,
Having the same problem as other readers finding the follow-up to stories with multiple chapters. I usually click on the authors name and then from there click on his stories.
I tend to keep my story separated with chapters until it is completed and then post the complete story. Doing it this way makes it easy for the reader (they just have to scroll down as the story evolves) without having to search.

Good idea, but unfortunately, visitors to the site can not access profile pages unless they are registered members.   That's one of the reasons I encourage people that visit KB to register for an account.

An author would need to put an index of stories with links on his profile page.  It's not that hard.   I would encourage authors to do that for the reason you stated WIW4.   Another reason to do so is to make it easier to find other stories by an author, should you really enjoy one of his or her stories.

Please know that any author needing help in setting up an index of stories on their profile site, just need only ask me for assistance.   I will set up your first couple of stories.  From then on, you could just look at how I did it and continue to build your library.
