Between the pain in my head, and the caffeine I consumed to try and relieve said pain, I may not get much sleep at all, and yes, I know staring at my phone screen wont help either.

I came home and slept for three hours. But now I am still awake.

After you ruined day post, I figured you'd be in a day long coma.

There is a certain zombie quality to it. I’m actually relieved that the foster child is gone. One less person asking me to order sushi at 11 o’clock at night.

Sushi at 11? If I eat anything after 9, it has to be something good for me, like grapes, almonds, yogurt, or a "banana". Unless I'm put drinking and I need food, but otherwise its lite snacking.

Edit: Still not a wink of sleep.

These kids all have food scarcity issues, and it’s not uncommon for them to eat five or six times a day. The service tells us to hold them to a strict diet. But when you see a kid crying over a plate full of food, are you going to enforce a strict diet? I’ve just always let my fosters eat what they want, when they want. But it gets to be a big pain in the ass after a while.

Well I finally got maybe six hours sleep. And when you put that with the two I had earlier, that’s eight hours. Doesn’t make up for the deficit Sunday night, but I should be a little more human today. Making the coffee right now.

Still havent slept, but I climbed into a scolding hot shower with my shower buddy and threw a bunch of pleasure at the pain in my head. Still ha e a headache but the migraines have passed, and I was actually feeling good enough to go to the store. I can feeling it creeping on back, but I think its because I have to call my cousin in a little bit. Being SUCH A BITCH!!!😡

If I had to work today, I’d still be struggling to wake up and get ready for work. As it is, the office is closed due to weather, so naturally my eyelids went up like window shades at 5 AM.

Sorry I’m posting so much today, but I got kicked off Facebook for “inciting violence.” I told a friend, “Be careful, or we’ll have to take you out back and beat the shit out of you.” It was a joke, but of course algorithms don’t *understand* jokes. So KB is my only outlet for the day, and I’m stuck at home with a little wintery mix and sub freezing temperatures.

I just wish the weatherstripping around my doors was better. I can feel a cold breeze blowing through the living room. Fucking Texas.

Three nights ago I got zero hours of sleep because of my migraine, and I couldnt sleep at all the next day.

Two nights ago, I hot 10 hours of sleep, and slept on and off throughout the day.

Last night I got several hours, but broken sleep and I kept waking up, this time it was Allan's head that kept me up 😘

Woke up early in the morning, likely 20 minutes ago.
Owing to a certain dream about something, something terrible.
The city was flooding...

There are medications that lessen the impact of bad dreams. I used to suffer from insomnia and my neurologist put me on mirtazapine (Remeron). It helped me sleep well, but with stressful dreams. He added suvorexant (Belsomra) to the prescription and now all is well. I continue to have stressful dreams from time to time, but they're far less disturbing than before.

Thank you for your concern Hilda,
Although, it isn't that bad, as most nights are dreamless for me, as for Insomnia, I do have something prescribed for it.

I am going on three days with little sleep.  I'm a business owner and have occasional anxiety attacks.  This time of year is always slim for us and I cannot get my mind to stop telling me i'm going to lose everything.  Every year this happens and every year I am good, but fuck. Prescription pills and I am still waking up at 1:30 like clock work.

This time of year is always slim for us and I cannot get my mind to stop telling me i'm going to lose everything.  Every year this happens and every year I am good, but fuck.

I’m an attorney, and I had a lot of financial problems going into the pandemic. And I spent three years living hand to mouth as a solo practitioner, working off the kitchen table and trying not to let the family know how bad things really were.

I’m sure you’ve tried everything, so don’t be offended. But here are my secrets for sleeping when you’re worried as shit. First, clear your mind. Do not allow yourself to think about things. If possible, I have absolutely no inner conversations. When worries would appear in my head, I would picture myself putting them in a barn, and closing the door. “I’m not going to think about that right now.”

Some nights that barn would absolutely be bulging at the seams, but I always tried to return to a neutral quiet space. I found that if I could do that for about 15 minutes, I would usually drift off and sleep.

If you have any training in meditation, another technique is to recite a mantra. I have two different ones. But if you focus on the mantra, it also helps clear your mind. Because it’s difficult to worry about taxes when you are mentally reciting the ancient mystics. “ Oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ.”

If those things fail, there’s always masturbation. LOL. Wishing you the best, because I certainly empathize. I’ve been fortunate. And I survived the pandemic and related financial downturns. Things are going much better for me now. I don’t have much trouble sleeping.

That's too bad. Pornhubby has some good points. Even something as simple as focusing on your breathing and counting the seconds for each inhale and exhale could help. When stressed breathing becomes short and quick, but the mind and body at rest works better with slow deep breaths. In through the nose out the mouth. There are however, those times where no matter what you do or try, you just can't get to sleep or back to sleep.

Hope this passes sooner and your able to.get good rest.

I on the other hand slept great last night.

Took an hour nap about 6 pm -7 pm.  Bad decision.  Went to bed at 11 pm and just laid there.  Finally got out of bed at 11:30, and here I sit watching Bohemian Rhapsody on FX at 3 in the morning.

The Queen movie? I haven't watched it (not a fan) but I would have thought it would keep you awake. Or is that the idea? :)
