Three or four days a week I wake up and can't get back to sleep.   Avoiding grabbing the iPad or Kindle though. I just tough it out and close my eyes. In most cases I'm awake an hour or so.

I took two sleeping pills last night. I was absolutely exhausted. Ended up sleeping about 12 hours last night. Feel so much better today. I’m laying off the booze to detox before college graduation ceremonies this weekend. We are starting at 6 a.m. on Friday.

Hope everything goes as planned. From the news I'm seeing, college campuses are not a good place to be right now.

Congrats to your graduate for completing his education. One of the two things I truly regret in my life is not getting my degree.

Have fun this weekend. You're such a great dad!  His success is your success, because you were such a large part of it.

I can imagine that big beautiful smile of yours now as his name is announced. Let those tears of happiness flow freely.  Have fun, be safe. I will be thinking of you both.

And I expect a picture.  Just as it's being taken, whisper in his ear, "This one is for my online girlfriend, make this smile count."

 :-* Love you.

Well I guess I kinda joined the club this morning. I'm one of those head... pillow...sleep people. I'd sleep all night but my bladder has other ideas about that.

Still after waking many where from 3:00-4:00 AM, I stagger but to bed and BAM, back to sleep.

Not this morning. We (bladder and I) woke about 3:45. Grabbed my cane and in haste made my way to the bathroom. Right back to bed expecting to get another 2-3 hours of sleep.

Big NOPE! Just laid there unable to turn off my brain. We had some big changes this week. Wife is getting stronger with her physical therapy. I'm learning more about her medications so I can.help as her vision continues to fail and it's a new routine for us.

I'm way behind.on housework especially laundry. We're finally getting help there from the VA. Had a hard worker here Wednesday who did a lot in three hours and was real stern if I tried to help. The next day a.nurse was here and one of my hated jobs of sorting pills for the week was taken over by her. She had three weeks of pills lined up for me.

What was keeping me awake? Glad you asked. Now that we have much needed help I was trying to organize in my head how best to utilize them, plus what I need to take care of.

Don't know why all these silly details hit my brain in the early hours but there they were. Finally decided to give up on sleeping and go to KB to vent.  :D

12:56 am Wide awake.  Turned on Netflix, watching "I Can Only Imagine"
Nicole Duport, omg she's so beautiful.
Now the song at the end of the movie.  Why am I crying.  I'm not religious.
I'm so tired, but I can't sleep.

Took me about a half hour to fall asleep last night. Since the Army I've always been able to go right to sleep. It's head ... pillow then zzzzzz.

Last night my mind wouldn't shut off. What's mostly going on in how to utilize the extra help I'll be getting from the VA's home health care. I'm so used to doing it on my own with a little help from my wife.

It will be hard at first just sitting back and watching. I've had two short visits and both ladies have been great. Meanwhile my legs are going down hill fast. So discouraging after the few months of success with my spinal cord stimulator. Now that I have new X-rays I'm going to contact the company that put that in. They do have more programs that can be installed in my controller.

Always something to keep life interesting.

We don't have a CAN SLEEP CLUB, so I'll throw it here.

I slept 9 hours.  9!!  Dan was getting ready to leave for golfing and he came in and gave me a kiss on the cheek.  He assumed I had slept late because I hadn't slept all night.  But I did.  Wow.  But you know when you sleep too much, you actually feel worse when you get up?  That's me right now.  Coffee, Yogurt and oatmeal will get me going.

...and 15 hours later I'm sitting up, wide awake, watching a movie. Forgotten Love, on Netflix.

I cannot remember the last time I slept through the night. Even reading or doing crossword puzzles don't help.

1:37 in the A of the M. Fell asleep early watching how I met you mother on Netflix, and now I'm wide awake. Drank a sedating tea, but it's just making me yawn a lot. Not really having the effect I hoped for.

Guess I should start a Stay Awake thread. I went to the store yesterday and got home totally wiped out. Had dinner and we were streaming Netflix. I only saw bits and pieces of a few shows.

Thought I wouldn't be able to sleep after my extended naps. Wrong! Went right to sleep at midnight and didn't wake until 5:30.

I slept from about 8:00 p.m. until 2 a.m.  Then again from 3 a.m. until 9 a.m. Best night’s sleep in a long time. I feel like a million bucks.

Those birds were so f'n loud this morning.  Woke me up at 5:30 and I couldn't get back to sleep.  I swear, they're having a party in the back yard.   They're still carrying on.

Old man bladder got me up at 4:00 AM this morning. Usually I can go right back to sleep. Not today. Brain started up with meaningless crap then the birds started in. Guess Jules sent part of her flock over here to entertain me.

Gell asleep earlier today, and now I'm wide friggin awake. Wondering if he'd mind me waking him up for a late night romp.
