The MSM has become more like social media outlets than journalism outlets. Even the august New York Times has fallen prey to this phenomenon.
Yes, because they had to, to survive. I think the major innovation is Feedback. You used to send a letter to the editor. Now, everyone's the editor. (At least as far as Op-ed, and Editorial articles) and if you turn off the comments, it just makes you look even more like an asshole.
I just got over the novelty of people ranting about "The Media" on Social Media. The irony of people ranting about "Socialism" on the internet still gives me a giggle now, and then.
Is that^ your satellite? What about this Server? The Internet is one of the biggest social projects for free speech in History. Sure, now it's funded by ads, and clickbait to get hits, but originally, Usenets were the University System. One of the 3 legs (Along with the AP Teletype system, and the DARPA experimental military security channels once those were replaced) that the original WWW was propped up on.
ALL of them Government funded, by your tax dollars. You're welcome, you fucking ingrates.
