I think the OP is upset by semantics.  A bunch of black slaves, I mean players, being told by their white owners, I mean owners, that they can't protest racial injustice, really offends some people.  I mean, as long as we give them some corn poe, and a banjo to dance to, these upitty athletes should just be grateful we didn't lynch anyone this month.

Too bad we can't bring back bounties and slave hunters... that'll show 'em what slavery *really* means!

I know of men that marry women and do not permit them to drive, or have any money of their own.  They are forbidden from leaving the home and isolated from their friends and family.  Sounds like a form of slavery to me.

I met a young man from the Phillipines.  He was very spoiled. He had servants do everything for him back home.
