...and get Hollywood out of my face once and for all.
This Harvey Weinstein incident proves, once and for all, no one cares about justice
or the crime that has been committed.  They care about publicity.  They all got dressed up to have their pictures taken like it was an awards show.
What should have happened was that, if a crime or crimes were committed, charges should have been filed at the first opportunity.
Instead, we have to hear about it in the press.
And the truth is, I don't give a rat's ass about Hollywood, it's overpaid movie stars, producers and directors.  The fact that this misogynistic crap has been covered up for so long shows liberal Hollywood for the vain and hypocritical glitter dome that it is.

No, but they're weak in not doing so. Hollywood is like a big corporation. The biggest "stars" protect their interests (in this case, Weinstein). Throw into the mix that a majority of Hollywood is in the Democrats back pockets.

“Do you want to have a job?

Then get in your knees bitch and suck my dick.”

This is what they faced.

What would you do if given that choice by someone who could interfere with your career to the same degree? It wasn’t a single job loss they faced, but their entire career and being able to pursue it at all. Calling him out would have meant they had no career at all.

Would you change careers with that stigma following you?

Try being a little less misogynist. You have NO fucking idea the obstacle that a woman faces working with small-minded men. And there are a lot of them out there.

No, but they're weak in not doing so.

Most women don't report sexual abuse or rape for a variety of reason.   But it is definitely not because they are weak.   I wasn't weak.  I didn't ask for it to happen.  I didn't want it to happen.   But I had my reason for not reporting my rape.   A victim doesn't need to explain why they didn't report it.   Just as they don't need someone that has no clue what transpired, calling them weak.   You have no clue.

People did come forward with Weinstein.  But nothing happened to him.  When that happens, it's less likely the next victim will come forward.

@mark_lp and @pervertedneight

I came forward against the man who tried to assault me. And mainly I had to because I broke his knee. My father picked me up from the police station.

The rest of my high-school experience was one of condemnation and rejection by a lot of the students because the boy who I disabled during the attack was a popular football player.

Two years of misery is what I endured.

So, if you want to say a woman is weak for not reporting a sexual assault, perhaps you should experience it, and the aftermath first, before you start waving your flacid cock around claiming your superiority.

I was just a teenager on the beach when I was gang raped.....
They finished with me and then tried to kill me........The Beach Patrol found me, saved my life....I spent almost a month in the hospital recovering.
So for the record, there are many of us who went through hell and won't talk about it.

I have no doubt these women were afraid to come forward.  But why is it when they do come forward it is to the press?

If part of the fear of coming forward is the "fear of talking about it", then why tell the whole world about it twenty years later instead of reporting it to the proper authorities behind closed doors where it could do the most good?  He obviously had a reputation and that reputation was joked about on Thirty Rock.

I will tell you why.  It is the Hollywood way of doing things, selfish and dishonest, not caring about what happens to the next girl who gets invited to the hotel room.
They missed their chance to send him to fucking jail, expose the creep for what he was
years ago and make him pay with years, but as you can see, they would rather have dollars.

Hmmm, then it has nothing to do with power, and a reaction of anger towards someone who is arrogant in his crimes?

Like Donald J Trump for example?

Some of them did go forward and were ignored.

I suppose you have never felt helpless.

Because the bad guys don't always go to jail.  In fact, they seldom go to jail.

Trump Is ‘Not At All Surprised’ by Sexual Harassment Accusations Against Harvey Weinstein

That, my friends, is what you call irony.

Oh, and I'll save you the trouble Pervert...

Don't you just love how these threads about something terrible happening immediately get politicized and polarized, and pages later have become a debate about something completely unrelated to a story about an idiot with a screw loose deciding to fire his gun into a crowd of people?

Wow.  I never said anyone deserved to get raped.  If I said that, I would like to see it in quotes, all right?  No one, and I am saying NO ONE deserves to be sexually assaulted in anyway, whether it is rape or not.  Many of the alleged situations with Mr Weinstein referred to his exposing himself and trying to get the actress to touch him.
He is a pig and scum and I wouldn't want him near any of my nieces (I don't have a daughter).
All of that said, it is just awfully convenient that the Hollywood elite always has the media to come trying their cases to while the average girl from Bumfuck, Iowa never gets her big pay-off.  I guess that's the price of not being a big time celebrity.

So why have all the Hollywood actresses suddenly felt free to open up about the casting couch culture? Because there's safety in numbers. Individually all of these women knew it would be career ending to speak out alone. They would be blamed for their own assault, not those in power that took advantage.

This is a watershed moment folks. Women as a group are empowered to stand up and say NO, when individual women never could without irreversible repercussions.

Honestly, I thought the casting couch culture was a thing of the past. I thought this because we've come so far and sexual harassment in the workplace is condemned as never before. But it seems people of power, like Trump and Weinstein never got the memo.

And women are still being told they were "asking" for it.
Trump voters all, I'm sure.
