Best of everything to our Southwest US Members, especially the Texas Gulf Coast and inland cities. Severe flooding predicted, heave destructive waves and storm surge, depending upon exact time and where it comes ashore.

Governor Abbot has wisely taken action, and will ask for Assistance from others when the data is in, but actions taken already will save lives. Fill up the gas tank(s), get some sandbags to protect your doors and lower levels, and fill your bathtubs with fresh water, your drinking supply if traditional sources are fouled.

Our hearts are with you, Texas!

Some people are like the 'slinky'. Not really good for much,
but they bring a smile to your face as they fall down stairs.

I think we have a number of Texan members and readers.

Stay safe, guys.

(Learn the lesson of New York - if your home phone, internet & mobile go down, go stand outside Starbucks.  Their wifi seems to go down last, so you can email your families and friends to let them know you're safe.)

Kit will be fine. The PMS is strong with her. She'll yell at the hurricane until it fucks off.

I'm okay. The worst part will be tomorrow. Under tornado warning right now. Up to 70-80 mph winds tomorrow. I'm scared.  :o

That's normal, Kit. But, you're tough. I don't know how far you are from the coast. If you're on higher ground, your home should stand up to the 70-80 mph winds. I'll just hope that the tornados don't make an appearance.

And to keep your  mind off of things --  :emot_bottomspank: :emot_bottomspank: :emot_bottomspank:

That is all.

I checked the radar last night, Houston was getting clobbered with rain.  I hope the sewers are working!

I am so thankful that my family and I are still safe and no flooding into our homes yet. I wish I could say the same for everyone. So many people out there are stranded waiting to be rescued as water rushes into their homes, and the rain continues. This is the worst storm in Houston's history.

I tried to check on my cousin, but the phone and Facebook are both offline.  ???

I hope you can get in touch with them soon. Everyone is really coming together. Neighbors are helping each other out. It really is incredible.

You know, that's one thing that a lot of disaster films get wrong.  Many show society falling apart and everyone just out for themselves.  The truth is that disasters bring us closer together.  And it is a wonderful thing!
