We watched it last week. Some funny bits.  Worth the watch.  But you're right, okay but not great.

I can’t believe that iCarly is 31 years old now. Don’t tell Jimmy GG.

I’m sure you’ve heard that legendary basketball player, Bill Walton of UCLA and Portland Trailblazers fame, passed away today. There is an ESPN series called “30 on 30“ that chronicles his career. I watched it today. It was very emotional, both for his career excellence, as well as his excellence as a human being. We lost a great one. Memory eternal.

UCLA basketball teams would come to Chicago every year, back when Lew Alcindor and Bill Walton were playing, and play other college basketball powerhouses. A group of us would go every year.  UCLA, under John Wooden, produced many great basketball players that I was fortunate to watch play.

SCHOOL SPIRIT on Netflix.

I better win stepmom of the year award for 2024 for this.

Melissa wanted me to watch SCHOOL SPIRIT with her.  I read the description and a brief preview and though it looks stupid. I didn't want to watch it, I told her so.  But she begged me and promised she'd make popcorn every night if I watched it with her.  So for 2 nights, I've watched 5 hours of the worst show ever.  Dead student's spirits in the high school they died in.  This school has a history of 60 deaths over 60 years or something, like, who would send their kids to this school.   Anyways, new dead girl arrives and she's trying to solve the murder of who killed her.
Just finished Episode 5.  Still 3 more to go.  I hope I choke on my popcorn tomorrow early into episode 6.  Really, I hope I do.  It's that bad.

And after Episode 5 tonight, she was going up the stairs to bed and asked if I'm enjoying it.  I know she is, so I put on.a big smile and said "Good pick!  Thanks for urging me to watch it with you.  I really like it."  She got a big smile on her face.

Interesting premise for a show. Her age group seems to really like paranormal stories of all kinds. Hope you can make it through the last three hours.  🤞

OH WOW! You deserve some kind of an award. I know from your previous posts how well you and M get along.
This is a great example of why.  🏆🏆🏆

EVIL season 2 on Netflix. I watched season one a long time ago, and thought it had been canceled, only to find out there are four seasons. Only 2 are on Netflix, but heard I could watch season three on youtube.

Series one of "Interview With The Vampire", good but very, very gory.  Sa the Tom Cruise film too long ago to remember it.

Princess, would you like to see it light up and hum when I wave it about

I really wish I had choked on that popcorn, but I survived.
Episode 6, 7, 8 was finished last night.
What do you think the worst thing that could happen at the end of the show?  If you guessed cliffhangerr with a second season coming, you'd be right.  . Any chance of another writer actor strike and. having the next season delayed for a few more years, hopefully after M moves out.

Boys In The Boat (Amazon Prime)

Based on a true story of the Washington rowing team getting to compete in the 1936 Olympics in Germany.
I really enjoyed it. Just discovered that George Clooney directed it.  I hadn't realized it.

I agree. I read the book and then watched the movie. It's fascinating!

I was looking for a book to read.  I think I'll get my hands on it.

Last night we watched Man Up.  Rom-Con 2015.  Amazon Prime, I think it was on.
About a woman (Lake Bell) who has not been dating and seems to be socially awkward.  She ends up at the meeting spot where two people were going to meet for a blind date.  She ends up pretending to be Jessica and spends the evening on a date with this guy.
I absolutely loved the movie and laughed through the entire thing.
Funny, romantic, feel good.

Netflix:

Cheongyang Monster. Learned that during ww2 japan had taken parts of Korea. Its an interesting take, until the end, when its a bit exciting.

City Hunter. This is the live action version of an 80's-90's anime. Really good, action packed and funny.

I am a member of a local rowing club.  Clooney surveyed our club building to be used as a backdrop because it has the look of a boathouse from that era, unfortunately he decided against it.  He also commissioned the boats from a local boat builder because modern boats are significantly different from the boats in the 1930s.  Originally the ones made locally were just going to be non-racing props and the racing done in modern fibre glass boats, but when Clooney and his executive producer saw how good they were they decided to use them to race as well.  There is a lot more back story in the book, but as usual had to be left out of the film for timing reasons.

As a wooden boat aficionado who has owned, raced, and restored a few, I cannot tell you how much this article pleased me. My grandfather rowed crew for Culver Academy and Columbia University in the 1920’s. Hat’s off. And woo.

HIT MAN
It was really good. Based on a true story. The ending was all b.s., but you'll understand if you watch. I liked the ending.

Have you watched 1917.   A very good movie, with the appearance of being done in one take.  I was amazed when we watched in theatres.   Anyways, I just noticed it is on Netflix
