New.

Watched Hocus Pocus 2 last night. It was....good, but not as good as the original.

I love the movies, not because I give a shit about the plots or cast, but the Hocus-Pocus movies absolutely drive Karen *insane* that Hollywood is recruiting children into pedophilic Satanism. Yes Karen. Yes, they are… LOL.

I read an article from some looney bitch telling people don't watch this movie, it will literally "Unleashing hell into your home", and a movie about "kidnaping children for blood sacrifice".  Just a bunch of crap from a over religious zealot.

I couldn't resist. After hearing of the death of Angela Lansbury this morning I couldn't get my mind off "The Manchurian Candidate". Had to watch it again. By today's standards it may seem pretty tame. No car chases, no CGI or other fancy tricks of the trade. Just a solid plot. (Who remembers that) solid acting. Angela Lansbury as the evil mother and pulling the puppet strings of her hollow husband is a classic performance.

As a side note the fight between Frank Sinatra and Henry Silva did not use any stunt people. Sinatra actually injured a finger and couldn't have it splinted due to other performances. As a result it bothered him the rest of his life.

It was also the first time martial arts was shown in a feature film.

Yeah...I love it :D

The Watcher, on Netflix. Based on a true story of different couples, over time, buying the same house in New Jersey and then getting letters telling them they are being watched.  Ten episodes.    And, no, it isn't about me, though I wouldn't mind costarring with Naomi Watts, who plays the wife of the couple shown. ;D

Sounds interesting.  Might look into that.

We started watching the Jeffery Dahmer story the other night.  I lasted 15 minutes before saying, "this is too weird.  I'm creeped out.  Turn it off."

Ugh, shivers just thinking about it.

I get enough disturbing stuff on a daily basis in my line of work. I do not want to come home and watch anything involving serial killers, zombies, horror movies, the list goes on. Why fill your head up with a junk? I just don’t understand it.

Which Dahmer story did you watch?  There is one where an actor portrays Dahmer and, on Netflix, there is a three-episode documentary using, for the first time, his own voice taped by one of the defense attorneys. I turned the movie one off after about 15 minutes too but did find the documentary interesting.

I was joking around with a friend about Veronica sucking 37 dicks. So I had to watch Clerks (1994) again. On Amazon. “All at once?”

Interesting note, “Silent Bob“ is supposedly mute. But at the end of the movie he tells Dante, “You know, there's a million fine looking women in the world, dude. But they don't all bring you lasagna at work.” So Silent Bob isn’t always silent.

The new Netflix e lease.  #1 on the Netflix platform.  I can't help wondering if shows like this will just kickstart something in some one and cause copycats.  Freaked me the hell out after 10 minutes.  No thanks.

Don't Worry Darling

I didn't want to see it after seeing the previews all summer, but M helped me out earlier and she wanted to see it, so I went.  Ugh.

She loved it.  I hated it.

Edit
But let me add that Florence Pugh was fantastic.

Halloween Ends, via Peacock.

Better than the previous movie, but that's not really saying anything. And yes, its finally over.

All Quiet on the Western Front on Netflix.  The third remake of Erich Remarque's novel on German soldiers during WWI. Very graphic.

The Good Nurse, starring Jessica Chastain. On Netflix.  Makes one think about how safe hospitals are. And how they handle problem employees. Think of the Catholic Church.

Watched."The Usual Suspects" last night. Even tho' I've seen it.several times and know the plot twist at the end, I enjoy the movie. Knowing some of the je more interesting parts seems to help me watch closer and I pick up something new/forgotten.

Knowing Kevin Spacey turned out to be a molester does sadden me as he was such a great actor. Such a loss.

I watched Glengarry Glen Ross last night. Hard to believe it is 30 years old now. I had the same thoughts about Kevin Spacey.

The cast includes Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin, Ed Harris, Alan Arkin, Kevin Spacey, Jonathan Pryce.  Despite being widely regarded as the best movie of 1992, the film was a box office failure, grossing only $10.7 million in North America, against a $12.5 million budget. It has since become a cult classic.

Agree.  I saw it the other night.

Have just started watching Succession.  Enjoyment somewhat spoilt by the tedious obscenities.

Downton Abbey: A New Era

I don’t care much for British aristocracy pieces. I didn’t see the first movie, and I only realized today that it is spelled Downton, not Downtown. Shows you what a goof  I am.

But I do love the south of France, and once they get on their way to investigate a family mystery, it got interesting.

If it’s your thing, you’ll love it. If it isn’t. You’ll want those two hours back. I do.

I'll admit to liking it. Wife was watching the series and I got hooked so she went back to first show for me.

When "A New Era" came out we decided to actually go to a movie theater. Bought tickets on line and were looking forward to seeing something on the big screen.

Just before the big day for us...COVID. Had friends who lived near the theater so we got to treat them

I loved seeing the old vehicles as much as the drama.
