No.  It's a climate change/over population genre. Also notable for the last film of the great Edward G Robinson, one of the James Cagney, George Raft, Humphrey Bogart era.

I should also add that it contains what I think is one of, if not the best, juxtapositions of music and film scenes I have ever seen (you do need to view it on a big screen with a decent sound system to do it justice).

Ozark season 4 part 1. Not sure why they didnt just do two seasons, but these latest episodes just changed the whole thing, and the last episode... 🤯. Did NOT see that coming

I'm not familiar with that series, but if it's into its fourth season I guess the showrunners are doing something right.

Was the sudden twist in S04E01 a complete change of direction, or just a shift in character dynamics?

Both actually, a new character shows up to throw everything into turmoil, and a few characters change directions that starts throwing everything off.

The big shocker was at the end of episode 7. I thought it was going to happen, but not the way it did. And I figured more towards the end of season 4 part 2

I would so love to eavesdrop on the discussions that result in a series going off in an unexpected direction, leaving fans delighted or despondent.

There was an HBO series called Carnivàle that was pulled after two seasons, as far as I know for financial reasons. I read that Daniel Knauf's original pitch mapped out the plots and sub-plots for 12 seasons. And then there are series in which the pilot differs from the episodes that follow, or series that are booked for a first season of, say, 21 episodes but are pulled after only 13, leaving viewers tearing out their hair.

I'm actually late to this party. I hate the evil empire that owns everything, including the MCU and I won't give them a dime, but I recently watched the Hawkeye mini series through a YouTube "reaction" channel (so I wouldn't have to pay). With that said:

Since the protagonist, Hawkeye, had a very close relationship with Black Widow, this figures into the story line. Another important part of the story is Kate Bishop. Kate is the daughter of a rich woman that owns a security company, so Kate knows a thing or two about cameras and alarms. Kate is also a champion archer whose idol is Hawkeye.

With all that said, Black Widow was created during the Cold War when it was thought that the USSR was engaging in eugenics, mixed in with steroids to create men and women with super strength.

Also, in the early 1990's, organized crime types in Russia wearing track suits left an indelible impression on fiction writers.

So, take a superhero archer, a champion archer, a "track suit gang", Kate's unscrupulous mother and a couple of Black Widows and you have the makings of a great six parter mini series.

Reacher, on Amazon Prime. I think the current Reacher does a better job than Tom Cruise did in the movie versions.

Murderville on Netflix. If you're unfamiliar, Will Arnett plays detective Terry Seattle and his guest celebrity partner improvise their way through a scripted murder investigation without the script. Conan o'Brien was episode one, Marshawn Lynch was episode two.

I found it to be quite entertaining, and some of the celebrities have some good improv skills.

We're watching Reacher too and enjoying it. I've read or listened to most of the books. T show is staying very close to the book character.

Tom Cruise as Reacher was laughable. That skinny guy trying to play a character who's always described as huge in the books just didn't play.

Damn autocorrect keeps changing Reacher to Teacher.

Resident Alien that is now playing on Peacock. A quirky comedy but cute.

I can honestly say I've never seen it before, but because it's on prime, and at the urge of Allan, and because it became a cult classic, I am watching starship troopers.

Soooo dumb. I'm a blonde and can't spare too many brain cells, 🤣, I can feel more dying off with every minute I watch it.  I'm assuming it became popular because ever guy in America wanted to f@#$ Denise Richards.

Edit: However, the shower scene would have made my time in the Army so much more interesting.

Dropout on Hulu. Based on the rapid rise and just as rapid fall of a Stanford college girl who dropped out after her freshman year to start a company that would revolutionize how blood tests were done.

I've been streaming my way through the new PBS version of "Around the World in 80 Days," and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

This production takes many liberties with the original novel (and the 1956 movie starring David Niven). Phileas Fogg is more of a real-life man than the coldly-calculating superhero in the novel; Passepartout  is a Black Frenchman from a ne'er-do--well background; and they're accompanied by a fetching and indefatigable young journalist who's a woman in a man's world and striving to make her mark.

I highly recommend it.

We finished this a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it (even with the liberties). Then I watched the film again for the first time since 1956. Much prefer the TV version, can't believe the film won 5 oscars including best picture.

Then there was the version with Jackie Chan.  The 1956 version stayed pretty true to the book.  I thought David Tennant did a good job playing Fogg in the PBS series. I liked his work in Broadchurch and Gracepoint.

I got to meet Jackie in the early days of his movie career. One of the nicest, most polite men I've ever met.
