I would like to see this too, just don't want to pay CBS for the privilege.  Hope it will be made available on Netflix or Amazon later, tho' as it's on a pay service that might not come to pass.  I do love my Star Trek.

In the meantime I recently discovered that "Earth, Final Conflict" is on Amazon Prime to stream.  I enjoy this Roddenberry based series.   He'd made notes on the series and after his death, his wife, Majel Barrett Roddenberry developed it.  Ran five seasons as a syndicated show.  The local station we were watching it on didn't carry the final season, so now I have a chance to see that finally.

Star Trek: Discovery (the whole first season), and I Like It!

I missed the mention in the Fall Line-Up thread, and never knew it existed until a week or so ago.  I've been watching a few episodes a day since Saturday.  Good stuff!

An abomination run by complete morons.

I think I mentioned elsewhere that I'm into cheezy horror.  This one fits.  :D  At least it has a bit of humor.  Good?  I doubt it, but it's into the 4th season and running for a 5th, so someone else must be watching it.

Been watching it from the very start. Rob Thomas was what led me to start watching.  I hate zombie shows and never watch them, movies or TV.  But having such a great sent up of the genre makes it all the funnier to me.  A special treat is watching "Liv" cook up the brain she's to eat for that episode.  All the creative ideas they've come up with...maybe they'll come out with a cookbook. ;D

Valerian: and the City of a Thousand Planets.

Massive Luc Besson fan, and I wasn't disappointed.  Cara Delavigne?  ( didn't check my speling) did really well in it.

Yes, it is, and I've been streaming away.

I watched it faithfully when it first aired, and I'm having fun slowly making my way through it a second time.

Black Panther.

I honestly don’t get the “#1 movie in the world” hype.  It had some cool special effects, but the “native African” stereotypes were absolutely grating.  Wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t particularly good, IMHO.

Saw it in the theater with my black girlfriend and she found it to be absolutely ridiculous and went on about how Wakanda was black peoples fantasy of black supremacy. It was an average Marvel Disney movie. Still wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than star wars, but to me our dogs crap is better than star wars.

Will likely never watch it again.

It seemed a black fantasy for black supremacy, but the African character depictions and dialogue were right out of Walk Disney’s blackface playbook.  “Moba bindookie moosaga!” “You mean the ancient purple flower of life is in danger?!?!”  “Bindookie!!! Bindookie!!!”

Stan Lee had a cameo.  Wonder if he had anything to do with it.

Well, he created black panther. But then again he'd probably cameo in Batman if they let him.

Okja (2017)

The folks at Dread Central did a better review than I can write.  I liked the movie.  I'm an omnivore again and fully understand what the animals go through; I've seen both turkey farms and beef slaughterhouses up close and personal.

https://www.dreadcentral.com/reviews/237954/okja-2017/

The only thing Dread Central didn't note: Okja (the pig) gets forcibly raped by a giant male superpig during her ordeal in the lab, so why is there only ONE extra baby at the end?  Shouldn't they have two superpiglets?

Nice of them to tease more, then dump it all in favor of BatFleck. Fuckin' morons.

What pisses me off is they got him, and WW right in BvSDoJ, then turned him into the Deadpan Snarker in Justice League.  I'm less concerned that he turned into a machinegun spree-shooter, after the whole Death in the Family thing (That wasn't an Easter Egg, that was Motivation) then turned him back into "Only kills robots, aliens, and alien-cyborg-demon-bugs" one rule as if the previous movie didn't happen.  The tonal shift to him all of a sudden growing a sense of humor, wearing "The Goddamned Batman!" uniform is jarring in it's cognitive dissonance.

Well, at least Wonder Woman is still Wonder Woman.  Please don't fuck her up, my poor heart can't take it.  Oh, and could you add like another yard of pleather to that Miniskirt of Girl Power, or put on some pants?  No leather jacket, just the pants will do nicely.

The Monkey King 3: Kingdom of Women (2018)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6466464

I enjoyed 'Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons' more, but this is still a good telling of the tale.  Shu Qi is in 'Journey...'  :emot_kiss:  If you don't know any of the Chinese mythology or classic stories then this will be somewhat incomprehensible since you don't know the characters or back-story (yet still watchable).

I watched “The Week Of” on Netflix last night, with Chris Roc and Adam Sandler.  Probably the best thing either of them have done in years.  Heartwarming comedy.  Good flick to watch when you just want to relax with a beer and a feel good movie.  Lots of funny supporting characters as well.  Nice ensemble piece.
