I agree with BOTH things Julie says here.

Just pick up today, and go forward. There's no need to go back and post for all the previous days. And that goes for this thread, and WBL's two active parallel threads.

And I, too, have discovered song/artists I don't know -- and, again, both here and those other two threads. In fact, at least two of the movies listed in the Movie Challenge thread went straight to my Netflix queue.

"Traveling Riverside Blues" is a song I think everyone should listen to both because it's an amazing song in and of itself, and because it was so hugely influential. The lyrics, the melody, and, especially, the instrumentation would inform generations of blues and rock musicians, up to the present day.



As a bonus, Led Zeppelin's cover (which is only a kinda cover) is the perfect example of it's influence:

I was gonna go in a totally different direction but after seeing MissBarbara's great choice, I decided on


So many of these old Bluesmen were so influential to bands like the Yardbirds, Cream, ZZ Top, Pink Floyd and of course Led Zeppelin.  We should all know where the music we love came from!
