I'm in the process of re-reading Tom Clancy's books (the ones he actually wrote and not the ones with characters he created but written by somebody else). Reading them in order. Just finished The Sum of All Fears.

That is all.

Working on a three volume set of books by Patrick Rothfuss
(1)  The Name Of The Wind.
(2)  The Wise Mans Fear.
(3)  The Slow Regard Of Silent Things.
Excellent series about a magician who was of all things evil, but finds himself in a position to be a hero. The third book is told by a woman who observed everything in the first two books and lives underground (under the castle in a maze of tunnels).
It's an incredible twist in the story of the first two books.

Love,
Liz

I've started reading another novel by an author I have not read before (nor even heard of) ... It's called "Evelyn, After" by Victoria Helen Stone... Seems a pretty good opening chapter which augurs well for the rest of the book...

I just started Eileen Wilks' "World of the Lupi" series, and I'm already in love...

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/81617.Tempting_Danger

... wow, I sucked down the first book in the series in 2 1/2 evenings after work, only a few hours per night.  Sadly, none of my favorite specialty sellers has ALL of the books in the series; I only have about 2/3rds of the books so far.  Hopefully it won't be too jarring if I can find them later.

Those of you that enjoy Kim Harrison or Jim Butcher will probably like Eileen.

"Harrison Bergeron" by Kurt Vonnegut. A short story about the surrender of the mind we are witnessing in America today. Perhaps the greatest piece of postmodern fiction I've ever read...

I'm new here and love to read.  Can anyone suggest a good series.  I liked fifty shades and the crossover series.

That depends what you like. If you want something 'similar' to 50 shades... try KitKat's The Weekend in the stories section. It involves a girl rather than a woman, but the dominance factor is there. You might like it.

Also, every time you read a story, you should give the author a woo and a comment - it's just good manners, since we don't get paid for this.

Homeland - John Jakes

Just started.   I loaded it on my father's kindle and it seemed like an interesting read so I put it on mine.

Also currently reading Jean Auel series that my brother in law had laying around.   Long books and lots in the series.    Taking a bread from it.   I love it though

I just finished The Lacuna, by Barbara Kingsolver.  This is the second book by this author I've read, the first being The Poisonwood Bible.

The book follows the life of a young man who lived in both Mexico and the United States.  His story follows that of the Bonus Army. post WWI, to his friendship with Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, and Leon Trotsky.  After the war he settled in the United States and becomes a popular author, until his past association with communists destroys his life at the young age of 34.

I found that this book details both the greatest highs of the American experience and its lowest low.  The red scare and the witch hunts that is a great stain upon our nations history.  Definitely worth a read.

Thanks for the recommendation!

I've read several of her novels -- Poisonwood Bible, Animal Dreams, Pigs in Heaven -- and I look forward to reading this one.

I LOVED Poisonwood Bible. It had a rare sense of humor.  I think I'll find my copy and read it again.
