When I was a teenager, and the World Wide Web was young and innocent, I planned setting up my own fake news site (would've been one of the first had I gone through with it). Alas...well, I already said what actually happened: had the site mostly ready to go, but chickened out, partly because I couldn't find somewhere to host it, and partly because I didn't think anyone would find it funny, just disgraceful.

Oh boy! Am I ever so glad I didn't follow through in the end!

Honestly, the age of the Fake News Meme is over, and got replaced by the Memetic age.  (Due to Moore's Law, electronic ages get shorter, and shorter.)  The Flat Earth Society started out as a Fake News joke.  Seriously, nobody took it seriously, until the single issue wonks got ahold of it, long after those of us that got the joke wandered off to check our Myspace (Or Sykospark, and Subcultures.net in my case.)  

Enter the memetic age, which ironically, there's no Memes about, because people don't realize that it's short for memetic, and #Hashtags are Memes.  Just like Image Macros, which we stopped calling that, when people mistook them for memes.

Then, over a decade later, Faux Noobs decided to stop saying "Mainstream Media," and thought they coined the term "Fake News."  then again, they're still trying to beat Social Media with basic cable, so yeah.  They're retarded, or the politically Correct term:  "Conservative."

Kinda like how Walmart canted the "Have a Nice Day" smiley 72 degrees, :) and Trademarked it.  Before the internet, the only way we had to spread memes was bumper stickers, and teeshirts.  (Okay, and Logos.)

On average.  Just saying, my dad's a Computer Engineer, and I worked with him to fix Y2K.  (A lot of money resetting the Clock reading program at the end of the nineties.  We both made $Hundreds of Thousands that year, and partied like it was 1999.)

In other words, just because someone is over 65 doesn't necessarily mean that they don't recognize Clickbait right away.

I have CNN on right now, that’s not unusual for me.  Ive been thinking since this ‘above’ was posted about the location of CNN on this chart, as verging on ‘selective or incomplete’ or ‘unfair’ interpretations of the news.

Given I watch CNN more than any news (but read multiple sources including Fox), I have been contemplating whether they really are unfair or not?  CNN has been to some extent reacting to direct attacks by Trump, as any individual or group is apt to do.  Trump attacks the ‘dishonest’ media in general, but singles out CNN in particular for his ire.  But make no mistake, this attack on journalism and CNN by a president is an attack on the freedom of the press and the constitution.

Perhaps the direct responses to Trump by CNN, in particular fact checking him and extensely covering of all his foibles in minute detail is unfair journalism.  I have a different term for it, I call it patriotism.
