I did love #6 A&M getting beaten at home by an unranked opponent on opening day. Because they have such a fucking attitude. And they are the Aggies.

I just hope someone knocks off Alabama after that pile of bullshit. And I don't mean Georgia in the SEC Championship game. And I also hope someone knocks off Ohio State, aka Entitled U.

Marshall went into Notre Dame and for only the second time in their football history, they beat a ranked team. I shed no tears when ND loses. Let's see if they still remain in the top 25 teams this week.

TEXAS! TEXAS! YEE HAW!!

Today is the 118th annual edition of the “Red River Rivalry.“ Texas and OU play each other every year at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, during the State Fair of Texas.

It is one of the biggest college rivalries in the nation. And win loss records and national ranking have little to do with who wins or who loses. Anything can happen on this day. And the stadium is absolutely insane.

Having said that, Texas is leading Oklahoma, 28 - 0 at the half. Texas blew a lead last year. But we’ve got our starting quarterback back playing (he was injured by Alabama targeting). I think we’re gonna win this one.

🤘🤘🤘

49-0. Largest margin of victory in Red River Rivalry’s history. First Texas shut out of OU since 1965. 🤘🤘🤘

Indeed.

Not at all the kind of game I expected to see from Texas, and OU who has been underperforming this season was just ...

I think Sarkisian's safe for the rest of this season.

I'm still hoping that Ohio State gets beaten.

And I now think Tennessee has a chance against Alabama. Alabama needed the refs' help to beat Texas, who stomped Oklahoma but good, and barely beat Texas A&M. (If the game was played in Alabama, I'd give it to the Tide, since they get away with murder at home.)

Tennessee winning with a last second field goal after both teams were marching up and down the field all day, one couldn't ask for a more exciting game to watch.

We were at a party and the game was on.  I thought the fumble and TD by Alabama to make it 49-42 was the end for Tennessee.  The end, wow.

CNN
 —
As Chase McGrath’s game-winning, last second 40-yard field goal sailed through the uprights, the sea of orange packed into the stands streamed out onto the field in celebration.

Orange fireworks went off above the Neyland Stadium, and the 101,915-capacity crowd, some on the pitch and some still in the stands, celebrated No.6 Tennessee snapping a 15-game losing streak against No.3 Alabama with a 52-49 victory secured in the last second.

The Tennessee Volunteers scored the most points ever in the 105-game series. Fans were quick to climb on the goalposts and bring them crashing down during the wild celebration, and one of the posts later ended up being thrown into the Tennessee River located just outside Neyland Stadium.

“This is college football at its absolute best,” Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said, according to ESPN. “We were the best team on the field tonight. That’s all we can control.”

Not since 2006 had the Vols defeated a Top 10 team or Alabama Crimson Tide, their fiercest rivals, and their victory confirmed their credentials as championship contenders.

The school is actually asking for people to help pay to replace the goalposts. Seriously.

And memorabilia commemorating the game is already being sold. No, I'm not buying any.

I read the NCAA has imposed a $100,000 fine on Tennessee for “failure to maintain crowd control.” Yeah. Is that a thing? Maybe they could have hired some Proud Boys to club kids in the head.

That happened so fast.  No action could have stopped the rush of the field.
Did you see the video of the refs running for the sidelines at the end?

Longhorns ruined my Saturday. Ewers finished 19 of 49, for 319 yards, with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

“We weren’t great upfront today. I thought it got a little leaky,” Sarkisian said of the offensive line. “At times, I thought (Ewers) was a little jittery in the pocket. But we didn’t help him. We tried to help him with some easier throws but it wasn’t effective enough. That’s on me. We’ve got to have a better plan in place to execute at a higher level.”

Same ole same ole. Texas converted just 3 of 17 third downs and failed on both of its fourth-down attempts.

We’ve got a bye this weekend. Thank God i won’t have yet another Saturday of pure mental anguish.

OSU was down by 17 in the first half. Texas had a chance to tie the score at the end but the drive was stopped with an interception.
