I really wasn't ready for college football to start over the weekend.

Kinda like the Oregon Ducks.

247 Sports has them ranked as the 7th most talented team in the country. They might want to rethink that.....

Just read something hilarious: Texas' marching band thinks Texas will beat the hell out of Alabama. I wish, but......  :emot_laughing: <----Just pretend I added a dozen of those.

So Lincoln Riley leaves Oklahoma for USC because Oklahoma is getting ready to move to the SEC and he doesn't want to be Saban's bitch for next 5 or 10 or 20 years.  So he goes to USC where he can be the big dog in the conference.  Now, USC and UCLA are moving to the Big Ten, where he gets to deal with OSU, PSU, Michigan, even MSU, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.  Nebraska used to be the top dog of the Big 8/Big 12.  Now...when was the last time the Cornhuskers were ranked in the top 10 to end the season?  Hell, when were they last ranked?

Though, there's a perverse part of me looking forward to the eventual White Out in the Coliseum when Penn State comes to visit.
Big 10 clipped Nebraska's wings when they told nebraska its our way or go away. no special rules allowing you to stockpile recruits and players.
think Lincoln Riley's time at USCw is going to dreadful. he ran from Sabin where does he run to now

And to top it off, he didn't have to run yet. Oklahoma and Texas aren't joining the best conference in the country until 2025.

For what it's worth, I just read that Alabama is 1-7-1 all time against Texas. Nick Saban is 1-1, and the loss came while he was head coach at LSU so it doesn't sound like Alabama and Texas have played much in recent years.

The only question this year is whether Alabama will eventually put in the third string.

I’m really excited. ESPN Game Day is broadcasting from Austin. As is Fox. They say it will be a new attendance record. The current record being 103,507 for USC in 2018. My son is already at the stadium waiting in line, this is the scene 07:00:

Put it on the game a few minutes ago, and wish I hadn't. The refs are trying to help Alabama win. The targeting AND roughing the passer calls were bull. Should be a safety.

Okay, overturned. But incomplete? BULL.

Say the least. Both of my kids are at the game, not together, so we’re chattering back-and-forth. Son No. 2 said, “Hurting the quarterback is always part of Alabama’s game plan.”

That's why I do not like Alabama at all. They get away with murder at times. And I find it laughable that they got to play for the National Championship when they couldn't even beat Georgia for the SEC Championship. The ONLY time I've ever been for Alabama was when they faced Ohip State (aka Entitled U) for the National Championship, when Ohio State shouldn't even have made the playoffs due to playing less than half a season. (Rankings should not be frozen when a team chooses not to play.) I turned the game off before I got even more angry.

Alabama just kicked a field goal. 20-19. 0:15 left on the clock.

I agree.  8)  The Texas girls were very pretty.  I was pulling for Texas because Alabama always gets top billing. I only saw the 4th Qtr. How did the starting QB for Texas get hurt?

Targeted in the first quarter. Dislocated his non-throwing shoulder.  If you recall in the 2010 BCS Championship game, Alabama targeted the Texas quarterback and knocked him out. Colt McCoy. I swear these fucking Nick Saban orcs should just be banned from the game. It’s hideous to watch.

The only time I've ever wished injury on a football player was Michael Vick after the dog fighting scandal. (Would have wished it on Ray Rice if he had been allowed back once the elevator footage came out) But if I ever see an Alabama QB get hurt, it will be hard to resist the urge to laugh.

Ewers had released the ball, was dropping back, and this fucking orc, Dallas Turner, pounds him and drives him into the turf. That kind of shit will get you ejected in the NFL.

Several upsets. Marshall beat Notre Dame, Tennessee beat Pitt (WOO HOO!), Washington State beat Wisconsin, Appalachian State beat Texas A&M, Texas Tech beat Houston, and Kentucky beat Florida. Going to be interesting to see the new rankings.

This was the Vols' first win over the Panthers, but only the 4th or 5th time they've played each other.
