The game late Saturday between Colorado vs Baylor was epic. With two seconds left in the game, The Buffs scored on a hail mary pass and extra point tie the game and force overtime. Colorado scored to go ahead then Baylor pushed in, only to fumble the ball and lose the game.
My distain for Neon Deon has not improved since he once fondled my boob at a club, but he has the Colorado team playing well beyond expectations.

I forgot to add, yesterday James Madison absolutely blew out North Carolina. The final score, 70 to 50 made it look closer than it actually was. Last year, James Madison was an FCS team, and like a number of other FCS teams, made the jump to FBS for the 2024 season. North Carolina is no slouch of a team, but they clearly underestimated James Madison.

I've lost the location on the ESPN website but one of their columns said something about the JMU football score being bigger than some of their basketball scores

JMU was originally founded as The State Normal and Industrial School for Women. They did not allow men students until after WWII, in 1946.

Beginning in July 2022, JMU’s football program began competing in the NCAA's Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as part of the Sun Belt Conference. Before that, the team participated in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and within the Colonial Athletic Association.

So it is amazing what they have accomplished, in a relatively short period of time.

Two nail-biters on Friday night. They started a half hour apart but the endings were almost simultaneous. My remote got a workout flipping back and forth.

Rutgers held on to beat Washington, 21-18

Virginia Tech scored a touchdown on the last play which would have beaten #7 Miami, but the call was overturned after being reviewed. I sure didn't see enough clear and convincing video evidence to overturn the call on the field, but that was the ruling. Miami 38, Virginia Tech 34.

That call really pissed me off. We can’t have officials deciding big games on the final play that way. Taking points off the board, to throw the game. The call on the field was touchdown. I did not see anything “clear and convincing” on the video shown, and I think it was bullshit. Miami is the ACC’s meal ticket this year. And I think that’s what drove the decision. But if rules mean nothing, why have them? That’s basically the theme of the 21st Century.

Big games in KB land today:

Minnesota vs Michigan

Michigan State vs. Oklahoma State

Texas vs. Miss State

and then the big one at 6:30 CDT:

Alabama vs. Georgia

And that Rutgers win was sweet PS. I’m a Mr. Magoo fan.

Horns won.

Georgia lost.

Predicting Texas #1, Bama #2 in Sunday’s polls.

Texas has a bye week now. Then we play Oklahoma in Dallas and Georgia in Austin. Could be our year. We have so much talent and depth on our roster. I can’t remember a year like this one. Ever.

There was four games of note for this weekend:

1) Last weekend, North Carolina was embarrassed by James Madison and this week, North Carolina found yet another way to embarrass themselves. Midway through the 3rd quarter, NC was ahead 20-0, but Duke came back and scored 21 unanswered points to win. (BTW, James Madison blew out Ball State  63-7 today).

2) Notre Dame and Louisville made it very entertaining, with Notre Dame coming away with a 31 to 24 victory.

3) Colorado was dominant over UCF 48 to 21. During the offseason, Colorado made a change in defensive coordinators and it actually was the defense that made Colorado so dominant in this game.

4) Alabama was ahead 30 to 7 at halftime, but Georgia would not stop fighting. This game went to the final minute, with Alabama winning 41 to 34.

Three losses in the top-10, including a middle of the night game that most on the east coast probably didn't watch. Unranked Arizona beat #10 Utah 23-10 (in Utah) in their first meeting as Big XII schools.

The other two late games weren't as interesting. Boise State blew out Washington State (45-24) and #8 Oregon ran away from UCLA (34-13) in their first meeting as Big-10 schools.

TIL 26-year-old Cam McCormick, Miami football TE, is playing a record setting 9th year of college eligibility.

McCormick, who referenced 2024 as his "last ride" on social media, started his career at Oregon in 2016 but suffered season-ending injuries that caused him to miss parts or all of the 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 seasons. His waiver for a ninth season of eligibility was approved by the ACC

If Miami makes it to the CFP championship game, McCormick may have played college ball during four different US Presidential administrations.

I certainly hope that he has taken advantage of the educational benefits and not taken classes, like "Underwater Basket Weaving 101" and "Watching The Grass Grow 102."

Think about it. Nine years is long enough to earn two bachelors and a masters. Some of his teammates were in third grade, when he started playing for Oregon.

What? Neon Deon fondled your boob? 15 yards to him for unsportsmanlike conduct. Hope you said something to him.

Great game tonight between Syracuse and UNLV. Midway through the 3rd, UNLV is up by 4, but Syracuse gets 2 TD's in 58 seconds. UNLV fights back and even takes a 7 point lead. With 30 seconds left, Syracuse ties it up. In the 1st OT, UNLV gets a FG, but Syracuse gets a TD to win.

They were playing at UNLV, but I felt the refs favored Syracuse. I’ve been disappointed by officiating this season in general. I’m beginning to suspect games are fixed. Seems that everything else is.

2-2 unranked Vanderbilt just beat #1 ranked and (previously) undefeated Alabama. First victory over a #1 ranked opponent in Vandy history. First victory over Alabama since 1984. Unbelievable. This may be the most exciting season in NCAA history.

Games of note today

1) Of course, the big news is that Alabama lost to Vanderbilt. Bama fell behind 14-0 early and just couldn't catch up. Although they tried, they just couldn't do it and it was a 40-35 victory for Vandy.

2) Usually a low scoring game isn't a cause for celebration, but the defenses of both Rutgers and Nebraska were firing on all cylinders today with Nebraska coming away with a 14-7 win in a real hard fought contest.

3) Upsets were the order of the day, with the afore mentioned Alabama, number 4 Tennessee lost to Arkansas, number 9 Missouri lost BIG to Texas A & M, number 10 Michigan lost to Washington and number 11 USC lost to Minnesota.

4) There were half a dozen games decided by four points or less, basically, whichever team had the ball last, won. It's only exciting if one of the winning teams was your team.

And in the late night game, Texas Tech was taking on Arizona. At halftime TTU led 18-3. In the second half UA scored 16 unanswered points. With 2 1/2 minutes left, TTU got a field goal to retake the the lead, then UA instantly fumbled the ball. At 1:45 TTU scored a TD to put the game out of reach. At 54 seconds, UA did get a FG, but TTU recovered the onside kickoff.

In the game before that California had a 21-10 lead against 8th ranked Miami. In the 3rd quarter, UCal added 17 points to take a 38-10 lead, but Miami was far from finished. Miami then scored 29 unanswered points to win the game.
