I wonder what one would see in a "normal middle class" home in regards to their sexual behavior and "deviancy".  I know people in the child protection business and it always amazes me as to how many parents are arrested for sexual abuse.  However, these usually are of the lower socioeconomic classes and are the ones that get caught.  I just wonder how prevalent these type activities are in your high socioeconomic classes.  I would also be interested in the prevalence of other so call deviate sexual acts such as bestiality.  If you ever hear news reports of such it is seldom from someone with a good income.  We know the court system is extremely discriminatory so I wonder about the prevalence of such behavior.

I am also surprised at the number of teachers who have sex with their students.  Why would any adult trust their livelihood on the silence of a 14 y/o?

What do you consider "normal"?.  And what is normal to one person might be deviant to another.  And what is a good income to one person might be paltry to another.

That is why I put them in quotes.  I also do not know the proper definition of "normal".  Maybe "average" is a better word.

According to the Dept. of Education, there are about 3.2 million full-time teachers in the U.S. Even if it happened 100 times in the course of a year, that's less than 0.003%.

And I agree with TD: Unless you define both "normal" and "middle class," it's impossible to answer your question.

Though I would hazard to guess "what goes on in those nice family homes" is as varied as the people who live "in those nice family homes."

I'm guessing that there is no such thing as "Normal" except what society "as a whole" says about what is normal, but as an individual "normal" can be a varied as you want it to be. Besides, the question begs to be asked. "What is normal to you"??

Okay, sorry for the confusion.  I will clarify, if this helps.  I am wondering about a family of 4 or 5 whose income is between $75000 and $200,000 a year.  They both work at white collar jobs.  They have a three bedroom two bath brick home in a nice neighborhood.  They have two cars and both have college degrees.  They work well in the community and their friends would be surprised if they learned either of them had an affair.  From all outward appearances they are rather conservative in their moral outlook.

I know their is no such thing as normal but I am just curious about those families that lived down the street.  What goes on in their home?

I think (not to be rude) that you are asking a very very difficult question that will have many different answers.

What is normal......
I live on a 40 acre farm.
Have at the minimum of 10 to 30 horses (Mine and Clients).
I travel all over the world selling horses and or traveling with horses.
I'm a Lesbian.
My average earning is between 75,000 and 120,000 after all the bills are paid by end of year (all my money is derived from selling horses).
So??...is that normal..??

My guess is that in many cases I would be surprised at what goes on in many households.

But I also see where it is a difficult question to pose in manner that can be specific enough to answer.

I understand what you're asking, and I think it's a legitimate question. Though I think "having an affair" is very different from "what goes on in the master bedroom."

The answer quite probably is "far more than periodic, heterosexual coupling in the missionary position."

And, in a way, I think this is a very beautiful thing: A married couple, with kids and both working full time, yet they still find time to please each other in fun, creative, and varied ways.

My interpretation of Plato5v's query is why do those being charged with sexual abuse (of some sort) seem to come more often from lower income groups than higher income groups. 

I doubt that more money results in less abusive behaviour. However, there may be a media bias to report on the "bad" part of town and gloss over what happens in the "good" part of town. How often do we hear in reaction to a report of abuse of any kind - "That couldn't happen here."? People tend to believe that if they live in certain areas that bad things don't happen and bad people don't live there.

Just my thoughts on the question.

I think you may be on to something about media bias.

I just wonder if there are more perverts with low income than those with moderate to high income or do the richer ones just not get caught.

Perverts come in all income brackets. The more money someone has the more perversions they can pay for, and if you're paying someone those people getting paid are not likely to say anything about it.
