Okay, question.   As a kid, I used to eat my cereal and just stare at the box while reading all four sides.   I still do that.   Anybody else?

That's where I learned most of my French from.

My "kid" cereal craving is Fruit Loops. My wife brings them home for me once in a while. Recently had a craving for Cap'n Crunch.

That is all.

Recently had a craving for Cap'n Crunch.

That's what I'm talking about!! Gotta be with crunch berries tho. I prefer just the red ones. The blue and green ones turn bathroom time psychodelic.

I miss candy cigarettes.

That's what I was thinking.  Probably true for a lot of us who grew up north of the 49th.  Parents wouldn't let me eat in front of the TV, so what else to do while eating breakfast?

Peanut butter and banana sandwitches

While you're waiting in vain for that apology, why don't you make yourself useful by getting on your knees and opening your mouth

Well of course.    My daddy used to make it and put chocolate shavings in there.

I think I know what I'm having for lunch.

Oddly enough, I just craved my grandmas thanksgiving dinner. Some phantom smell hit me and it reminded me of her stuffing.

My sister and brother in law used to have Turkey dinner a few times a year.    I loved it.   Maybe I need to revive that tradition.

I think I'll plan on next weekend.     Then Sunday will be leftovers with open faced turkey sandwiches.    Oh, my tummy is growling thinking about it.

Thanks for that one Chirp.

Here's one. Peanut butter, with banana slices, almond slices, a sprinkle of cinnamon and honey. Best sandwich ever!

Not food based, but when I was little my mommy would take me on a hayride every October just as the trees had fully changed colors. I loved doing that with her. The smell of the leaves and autumn and pumpkins.  :D

We haven't done that together in a very, very long time.  :-[

I don't miss all the scratches my legs and arms used to get from the stubble when picking up the bales. I was SSSSSOOOO happy when we switched to round bales.

I couldn't sleep last night and my daughter won't leave me alone. So we spent most of the night talking and one of the subjects that came up was how she missed school pizza. I realized that... I kinda miss it. I can vaguely remember how school pizza tasted and how excited everyone was on pizza day. They knew we only wanted the pizza, but would give us corn and fruit to go with it. I think they eventually stopped with the corn because garbage bags were full of it. I remember we got pizza, corn , fruit and milk. You could choke down the fruit, but fuck the god damn corn. Kids don't want corn. My wife, the pro chef she is and could make anything you'd ever desire, could not replicate school pizza for me. She made it too perfect, too amazing. It didn't look right, it didn't taste right. All the ingredients were incredible, and I guess that was the problem. You can't replicate school pizza. My mouth is literally watering right now thinking about the tangy sauce and cheese. It's so fucking weird why I would crave school pizza.

Then a flood of memories hit me about all the things I had as a kid and don't have any more and I miss so much.

I hope she yelled at you in Japanese.

-sighs- I'm very picky about root beer, but if I'd had a grandfather I'd have been happy to sit with him and have one...
