OR, as I've continued to state in my ass hole off the cuff way, members could actually use the board and communicate that way. If people want to "CHAT" that bad, don't hide your email addy within your profile and ya all can hook up that way.

From experience there will always be a few who prefer to chat real time while still connected to the board, I doubt the lack of a chat room will make much difference to our post count, but who knows.

I don't think it will change any post counts either and more reason I don't want to see a chat option added back.

I've used chat here, tho it was fun at times, I still prefer the board interaction to a chat room.

Chat was fun when Pan was the de-facto moderator of it.  Many times we had at least a dozen or so people in chat. Harlequin?  Ah, yes, the Italian Stallion. The ladies loved him.  I miss AOT. She was smart.  Hope she made it through medical school.

Even though I removed the links from the menu bar, the kiddies at RavishU figured a way around it and used a direct link into CHAT this afternoon.  I cut it off the hard way bare minutes before our host turned us off (yet again).



It's not fair to the other few hundred people here and at RavishU that a handful of people take over and DOS (Denial Of Service) the forums.  Until and IF I can get a lower-impact CHAT instituted, I'll leave it dead.

Uhm........I don't understand a word of that. Can you dumb that down a bit please?

CHAT is breaking the forum due to the load (99% of it over at RavishU).  When we overload, the host turns us OFF, and both CHAT and forums go bye-bye.  Pick one: chat or forum.  I know which one *most* of the members (and all of the GUESTS) will choose.

To add insult to injury, some asshat at Viasat was running a 'site ripper' a couple of hours ago, and THAT spiked it so bad that we briefly went offline.

Seems like KB is suffering because RU has two chatrooms misused, so now we have lost ours, that seems fair.

Once it is connected you can choose a screen name if you want or use the generic that is shown. There is a small icon in the bottom left corner that will allow you to choose a channel to join.

#fr34ks is from an old site, but mostly inactive now so RU & KB members can use it.

Alternatively there is #kinkalicious which is more wide ranging, it's only small as well since it is only relatively new.

You can also use a IRC client to connect if you prefer so that you are not limited to the browser.

If you find any bugs there please let me know.

If you are having trouble working out how to get into a channel on the irc link:  http://www.kinkworld.tk/lightirc/  maybe this will help.

Once you are connected to the server, click the small icon on the bottom left of the screen and then on the "list channels" button

(click to enlarge)


That should bring up this screen



Which shows all the channels on the server. Use either of the top 2: "#kinkalicious" or "#fr34ks"

Typing "/join #fr34ks" without the quotation marks will also take you to that channel

Alternatively you can just use either of those without the quotation marks if it asks you to join a channel.

All IRC commands work on the server.
Nickserv is enabled.

Chatzy is also a good option. Joan introduced me to it. Although I haven't been there in quite sometime, but it was quite simple and easy to use.
