Generalized tonic-clonic grand mal seizure. Not how I planned to start my day. This one really snuck on me.

Sad to hear. Hope you are doing better today.

Here’s what the Internet has to say.

It is the most helpless feeling imaginable. Blacking out, falling to the floor, and pissing yourself for an hour.

I’ve always considered myself a man of letters, and have had a somewhat undeserved pride in my intellectual abilities, but this is like sticking a screw driver in a light socket.

I’m having some concerns now about what this means for my future employment and living arrangements.

Keeps those thoughts and prayers coming.

I think I may have said it before, but it's worth repeating. All the thoughts and prayers I've been receiving have helped me.

Now it's Toe's turn and I going to toss Watcher's name in the hat to. Both need lots of KB love'n. Come on team show them the support you gave.

I appreciate it Bob. It’s very humbling to realize the limitations our own body will place on us. Not my first rodeo, but I’d rather have a bad heart than a bad brain.

Is this a new issue with you?  Meds for this issue tend to make one sleepy.  You are a big part of the KB family and the family watches and cares for one another.

This started the day before Thanksgiving. And I’ve had about one seizure per month since then. So far, I usually get some warning signals and I can find myself a safe place to sit down. This time it just hit me and knocked me to the floor immediately. Bruises, cuts, broken toe… No warning. I’m on an anticonvulsant called Keppra. But it’s really problematic for my profession and living alone lifestyle to have this problem. I appreciate everybody’s thoughts and prayers. You mean the world to me.

Ouch not good that you have seizures and living alone, not good combo at all, I hope you can somehow get your meds adjusted or that things get better. Please take care. My mother got seizures after her stroke, though she had me there to take care of her. I also have some very brief/mild seizure like things going on, I never fall down from them, but I have lost time and once I was on my way down stairs and returned to awareness mid step, whole body trembling and glazed in sweat and foot that I was somehow balancing on in a stupid position to stop moving in hurting a lot, no clue how long I stood there like a statue in the stairs... Anyway I hope you avoid any further falls and such, and maybe see about getting yourself one of those button to call help things, in case you fall and hurt yourself too much to get up on your own.

Did what for me was a major shopping trip yesterday. By major I'm I went to two stores.

Went first to a supermarket for groceries. Got what we needed there to restock the cupboards and fridge.

Next moved on to Sam's Club to stock up on household items etc. As you can imagine lots of walking at both places. By the time I got done at Sam's I was too tired to load the car. So, being lunch time I hit their little snack bar and grabbed a slice of pizza. :D

Got home and now time to unload everything. A lot could stay in the garage until we need it. Groceries all fit my n a cart I have. Wife came out on the back porch and I handed the bags up to her and she put them in the house. After a rest we put most everything away.

Today I'm totally wiped. We're going to have to find a way to do something different. I experimented with using a delivery service a couple weeks ago and they screwed up the order. It was a well known service too. Need to find out what other people do. Afraid my days of shopping are coming to an end.

Bob, use curbside delivery. They will gather the items you order online, bag them for you, and put them in your car.  It is usually free or a small service fee. My grocer prohibits tipping.

You still have to get those groceries in the house, but a hell of a lot easier.

If that is too much, Uber will deliver groceries. More expensive than the first option, but they will carry your stuff to the front door and put it inside on the floor.

Be careful.

Good advice both of you. The thing I'd miss about doing my own shopping is all those yummy treats that just happen to "jump" off the shelf into my cart as I pass by.

My big mistake was going to two places the same day. One I probably could handle.  But things keep getting a little worse.

I have hopes of some help from the new pain clinic the VA has referred me to. I go in April 8th for an injection in my spine. They have several treatments lined up for me. We'll see how the first one goes.

It took me 5 minutes to get to thiis post  , from picking my iPad up, to logging in, to loading this thread.  Not a happy camper.

That sucks and is unacceptable behavior of them. I hope you can contact them and have someone fix it, as unlimited is supposed to be unlimited.

It's one of those things revealed in the print that's too small to read even on a 50" TV screen. Pretty sure all carriers reserve the right to slow you down after a certain amount. Or if the network is too busy. Or if they're in a bad mood. Don't you just love fine print?

Been crazy busy last couple days but finally slowing down at work and home life.

I think curbside is the best thing out there for grocery shopping. You can still pick out all those snacks that jump into your cart, you just do it through a screen. As for getting it in the house, since you didnt tire yourself out in the store, you'll have it much easier putting stuff away.

I don't trust delivery services, I hardly ever order delivery, I'll go pick it up.

So, I lost my hotspot data sharing. I can’t link my iPad or computer to my iPhone to get on internet. But, my iPhone still can get on with no issue.
I just hate browsing online with iPhone.

Kinda good news is, my Kindle is  with me, but I’ve read everything on it.  Need internet to load more. .  Where The Crawdads Sing is my current read.  I read it a long time ago. Rereading after seeing the movie last summer.
